Lovely view but disappointing service

Good hotel let down by very poorly managed restaurants, and unbelievable trash-strewn condition of the hotel beach (not seen anywhere else on the island). Some staff were very friendly but others were simply disinterested and inflexible. Great pools for the kids. Clean rooms. Had to wait 20-30 mins each time for a buffet breakfast or dinner in a half empty restaurant. No option to eat at the bar for kids. The island is outstanding however! Essential to take a car.

Staff is friendly and accommodating. The pools are great for kids with a slide and volleyball net. Beach is nice, but must be careful due to high numbers of jellyfish. Restaurant closes early, so if you are arriving late from airport and hungry that could be a problem. Overall, nice hotel.

It wasn't so bad for a lil vacation with my family, staffs there were super nice pool service was awesome and it was work it

Kauai Beach Resort

Location of hotel is close to airport and the town of Lihue. Upon check in front desk staff indicated we had been upgraded. Room smelled of mold and must. Staff is not friendly nor willing to help. Upon check out, we approached the check out counter to return towels and the lady responded "I was working on completing something, how can I help you?" There are other places to stay in Kapaa with better locations, amenities, room cleanliness and polite staff.

Pool & Shave Ice Dream!

Had a great stay - would recommend to anyone looking for a moderately priced hotel with great amenities. Loved the water slide, pools, and delicious shave ice!

Sisters' vacation

The location was convenient to the airport and the valet were nice but they did not assist with bags and the check-in gave very limited information. The traditional rooms have an old decor but also very sparse amenities. The walls are thin and you can hear normal conversation from your neighbors and anyone in the hall. The playstation DVD player would not play blue rays which is all they had in certain movies. The 'do not disturb' sign was a bracelet that was stolen the first night and not replaced. They said that happens all the time. The smoke alarm in the room flashed a bright green light on and off and the front desk said that was normal. Hard to sleep. The beach is small and there are no chairs or seating at all in this space. There is a pool with no real beach view but you have to exchange a towel card (1/person) for a daily armband to prove you are a guest they said. The pool towel however doesn't even cover the back of the chaise lounge. It is too small to wrap around my small frame also. Actually the room towel is also very small and barely wrapped around me after many attempts. I spoke to several managers but they made no attempt to discount the resort fee or improve the situation.

Nice resort love it

The resort is nice the staff wonderful ,I was only disappointed with the beach.it was dirty and rocky could not swim in it.

Dirty Beach

The beach behind the hotel is filled with trash. The hotel is decent. The staff wasn't overly friendly and the restaurant staff was sub par.

Very nice stay...

We stayed at this resort for a night before meeting up with family. Getting the shuttle from the airport was quick and simple. Check in was easy. The main lobby area was beautiful. We had reserved a room with mountain views and were pleasantly surprised when we could see the ocean. There were numerous pools for the kids to swim. Very family friendly. Food and drinks at Driftwood was great. Overall we enjoyed our stay!
