Felt fooled, bullied & coerced by the staff

Posted Dec 18, 2016
Pros: Nothing. I did not get to stay at the hotel.
Cons: An investigation on this hotel's scam (offering discount rates and selling travelers to cheaper places) to ensure the safety of gringo travelers.
Location: Miraflores seems very safe, but solo female travelers who do not speak Spanish should remember: DO NOT agree to be moved to any shady neighborhood!
I paid for 2 nights at Casa Bella Miraflores (CBM) on Expedia. On my arrival I was told that I won a free update to a much more expensive apt a few blocks away (still in Miraflores) for 1 night. I agreed and went back to CBM the next morning. There I was told by a lady called Gissela that my room would be ready in minutes. As I was waiting to check in, an English-speaking elderly couple walked in and asked about the availability of a queen-bed room (which I was booked for) for 2 nights. Gissela said no but offered the couple "a free upgrade to a nicer room a few blocks away." The couple refused and was about to leave. Gissela stopped them and said she figured out a way to accommodate them. Then Gissela walked to me and told me there has been a piping accident and she'd get a taxi to send me to another hotel "a few minutes away." I asked which neighborhood that place was in, and she replied ''San Isidro." I refused, because I was told Miraflores was the safest neighborhood. I asked Gissela if there was any way I could stay at CBM, and she said "No!" I told her I paid for 2 nights at CBM and I was not going anywhere else. I would have to call Expedia. Then she said she could get me a room at the hotel close by but I had to pay more because it was pricier. She insisted I couldn't stay at CBM. After I refused to pay more, Gissela said she'd cover the difference. I was then sent to El Faro Inn. The next day I peeked at the invoice which showed a lesser amount than what I paid.

Nice botique hotel close to the parks and beach.

Posted Dec 5, 2016
Pros: The hotel staff was excellent. The room was nice and large with a large private balcony. Ask for room $205. It's a spacious room w/ Queen size bed.
Cons: The Internet was spotty sometimes, and the signal wasn't very strong consistently. Waves of weak to strong signal. The hotel my need new routers.
Location: Great location, close to everything, markets, parks, beach, & Kennedy Park one of the happening places in Miraflores. Go to the Water Ftn Park @night.
The hotel staff was excellent. Allie let me check in earlier after my morning flight arrived. I was able to check in when room was ready at 9am. And Fernando was nice enough to have breakfast ready for my early departure at 630am. That staff here is incredibly. The room was nice and large with a large private balcony. Ask for room $205. It's a room with a single Queen bed and it's spacious.

Lovely b & b with wonderful staff

Pros: Staff was very helpful and kind. They were open 24/7 to assist you with early/late arrivals.
Cons: there was nothing that we did not like about the hotel.
Location: Location was beautiful with the ocean a few steps away. Only downside was that it is in a more residential area so there were no nearby restaurants.

Hotel en barrio muy agradable y tranquilo

Posted Dec 23, 2016
