Pretty hotel set in a picturesque area.

Posted Feb 14, 2018
Pros: The period details with a contempory twist along with access to a spa.
Cons: The pillows felt past their best. The bathroom decor was tatty and worn (the recptionist said it was due an update- needed sooner rather than later).
Location: The hotel is set in beautiful grounds with a short drive to bath.
The staff were welcoming and helpful. The hotel had lovely original features with a contempory twist. Our room was comfortable and bigger than expected. The spa was a great experience (even swimming in the outdoor pool on a cold and frosty evening).

Would go back

Really lovely hotel in the countryside. The restaurant was stylish and comfortable and the service good. The only negative is the roads at night have no lighting as country roads so can be difficult to find. Also the postcode will take you to a front entrance which is not used! The actual entrance is around the back where the car park is. This also has poor lighting. Other than that it is definitely worth a visit.

Forward to the past!

Room was lovely and as it was a return visit after many years it was particularly good to see the room (hopefully all rooms) still in good shape and not ruined but (necessary) modernisation.

Overpriced for the standard of service provided

Posted Oct 9, 2017 on Hotels
Arrived early and rooms were not available which wasn't a problem as we would have had a drink in the bar. BUT - no draft beer, no Chardonnay wine - very limited choice of anything else. Excuse - a wedding left them void of alcohol even though we arrived on a Wednesday! Meeting up with friends, so 4 rooms booked months in advance. Not acceptable. Staff in restaurant not the most dynamic - table of 5 asked for sweetners and eventually returned with 3 satches so asked for some more only to be told it may take a few minutes to get them!. Staff not efficient at clearing dirty crockery at breakfast service and would rather walk back to the kitchen empty handed. Rooms were relatively clean although we had a cracked wash basin and missing grout on the flour tiles. There was also a rip in the middle of the quilt cover. The bed however was extremely comfortable. We found this hotel to be overpriced for the service provided and would not return

Nice Manor turned into B&B. 15 minute drive from the center of Bath. Staff friendly and room large and comfortable.

A real treat

Pros: Atmosphere, garden & loved the spa
Cons: The outdoor spa area needs some TLC. We didn't have coffee in our room.
Location: Lots to do locally for all the family.
Welcoming, including a warm welcome to our dogs! A lovely hotel, comfortable rooms with lovely bathroom. Such a comfortable, massive bed. Would love to come back to this hotel one day. Food was very nice & we dined outside with our dogs.

Beautiful hotel, very polite friendly staff. Room was wonderful, enjoyed breakfast. 20 min taxi into Bath center at around £12 so not bad.
