people should know of renovation at the Hotel!

Cons: renovation has to be communicated to the guests in advance
Location: one of best location in Lisbon
- Lobby is under renovation; it's better if Expedia does not advertise nice lobby photos. I have got very disappointed when I saw there was no Lobby! - Construction makes a lot of noise until 7 pm (from 8 a.m.) - hot water was a problem in the room. You have to waste water up to 5 min to get warm water to shower - card key was a problem; had to go to the Lobby 3 times to reactivate in 3 days stay However; I was upgraded to a very nice suite at the top floor; cannot complain about the comfort of the room as it was great. Lastly, duty managers, receptionists, and all the staff have been very nice, helpful and excellent. If they weren't that nice I would be leaving the hotel in the first hour.

The hotel was selected as part of a Viking river cruise we arrived a day earlier so chose this hotel in order not to have to move again....but we were very pleased with the service and staff, very professional and friendly ..great restaurants and great breakfast buffet...room a tad small and shower tub combo awkward and uncomfortable...terrific location...very good gym facility and just lovely Terrace restaurant with fantastic views and excellent food...would definitely return

Stuffy and pretentious hotel.

Very stuffy. Hard to find a congenial restaurant in the neighborhood. Problems with the hot water for two days. Moved us to a executive suite but still no free coffee in the room!

The location of this hotel is excellent.

Pros: I enjoyed walking through the city and how close thT the hotel was to the city center.
Cons: There were no other choices within the hotel for breakfast.
Location: The location is near to all shops, restaurants and transportation. There are so many things to do in Lisbon and most activities were very closeby.

No complementary water or coffee!!

The reception staff was efficient but not particularly friendly. We weren't even asked if we enjoyed our stay when checking out! The bar staff were unprofessional and unfriendly. The room was a good size but dated and the bed was awful. The bath was dirty and the light on the shaving mirror didn't work. The fire alarm went off at least three times on the first night with no explanation. The coffee provided in the room was nespresso but you had to pay to use it! Luckily we had read about this in a previous review and brought out own capsules. Breakfast was very over priced and the food and selection was average at best. The coffee at the lobby cafe was a disgrace. Dinner at the roof top restaurant was delicious and great value. Staff was efficient and professional. The Fado singer and musicians were fabulous!! The room service was sporadic and on one occasion our towels were taken away and not replaced. On one occasion there was unsavoury red/brown staining on a 'clean' towel. The towels were old and scrappy with plenty of holes. I could never call this a five star hotel. You might be treated differently if you are on the more expensive upper floors ... we once saw a porter nearly falling over himself to press the button on the lift for a couple on one of the upper floors. He stayed in the lift and pressed the button to their floor. Don't get me wrong, I don't need someone to press the button for me but it goes to show the different treatment you receive.

Great stay all round. Only downside - pool bar and facilities need to be available later in to October if weather good. This would mean your clientele would not have to keep finding someone to ask re towels/beds/bar etc.

Fabulous position, great staff.

All good, fabulous roof top bar. Only slight downside we booked and paid for three people in the room and only 2 cups, 2 towels, 2 glasses of to etc disappointing.
