Lisbon and Fatima

Pros: We took the train from France. The hotel was across the street from the train station. It was five minutes from the airport. Very convenient.
Cons: The dinner menu. Lisbon is known for the food. The dinner was just OK
Location: We came to see Fatima. It was an hour away. But we also went into the old city of Lisbon and spent a day visiting the local villages. Very picturesque
It took me years to get my wife to even think about going to Europe. When we left Lisbon and were on the plane my wife said maybe she would go back. Lisbon was really beautiful. BUT the countryside is fabulous. Get a guide. We had a guide from Sintra Magik Tours. We spent two fabulous days seeing anything and everything we wanted to see. The hotel was near the airport and train station outside the old city. The Hotel was almost perfect.

Modern hotel excellent transport links

Excellent modern hotel close to the main oriente train and metro station. Modern bedroom with excellent bathroom. Lovely indoor pool facility for families with young children. 15 minutes in metro to central Lisbon

Near the shopping

Convenient and nice hotel

Pros: Close to transportation.
Cons: Most things were very good.
Location: Close to train station, shopping and airport.
2 min walk to Oriente train station and shopping mall and 5 min taxi to airport. Rooms are typical, clean and comfortable as a large chain hotel. There is a steak restaurant downstairs. We asked for other choices and were directed to a restaurant that we found to be affiliated with them but farther away than others we passed to get there so be aware before asking. Overall good choice.

Charged 5 Euros for using wine glasses!

Yes, there is a 5 Euro charge to use the wine glasses in the room, not a deposit but charge!!! Coffee making in the room was chargeable using the coffee pods, which I can understand to a point, but there was no kettle either. I was at the continental hotel in Lausanne, Switzerland, the previous week and the Nespresso pods were free and unlimited.

Modern is not always good news.

Modern hotel, clean room, great bathroom. Not so good Wi-Fi slow free for hour, 10 euro unlimited for again slow Wi-Fi. Bed is very firm. Tv remote didn't want to hange channels. Hippopotamus Restaurant downstair is good, great service.. Stayed only overnight waiting for a morning flight, will not stay there again.
