Excellent, central location for exploring Sintra

Posted Oct 26, 2016
Pros: Fantastic views, an open, comfortable foyer and lounge area. Helpful staff, very accomodating and keen to ensure we had a good stay.
Cons: The hotel suited our needs, but if you are looking for swimming pools, gym and additional facilities this hotel wouldn't be the one to choose.
Location: Great location, about 10 minutes walk from the station. Plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby. The TIC and Palace only a two minute walk.

Best view of Sintra

Posted Oct 5, 2016
This hotel has arguably the best view of Sintra. If you get room 804 you will not be disappointed. This hotel is right next to the shopping district and it is very easy to catch one of the buses that take you up to the Moorish Castle. The televisions in the rooms are a little dated. And the WiFi is very spotty and NOT free.

Fine if you like the 70s

Posted Sep 20, 2016
Pros: It's close to everything in Contrast and the view is very good.
Cons: It needs full modernisation.
On arrival the lobby area looked, nice, clean albeit dated. On checking in a guest in front was making a complaint, which was about the fact there are no irons in the hotel, you need to use their pressing service that is done at the hotels leisure not yours. We checked in and went to our room and this is where we were shocked. The carpet looked like someone had unleashed gallons of water on it, it was badly water stained. There was no tea or coffee making facilities, only two plug sockets free (in the gadget age this is not acceptable) the décor looked in keeping with the outdated lobby. Having had a very long journey and a wedding to note go to, we decided to have a shower. The first thing we got we brown tinted water, which runs for the first 5mins of turning on the shower. Once the brown water had gone, it was not too bad.

great location, super staff, needs facelift

Posted Sep 20, 2016
Pros: Convenient, nice staff, pretty setting.
Cons: As mentioned, the furniture.
Location: Worth two full days to get to all palaces and the coast. Sintra is beautiful, though full of tourists.
Good hotel at reasonable price. The staff was great. The location right off the plaza is ideal. It's easy to walk around the town. The setting is pretty. Ask for a room on the valley side. All rooms have a balcony, which is nice. It's September so I could have the door open to the air. Lobby and dining room both overlook the pretty valley. However, the lobby and rooms really need new furniture. Lobby chairs are sunken in and the upholstery is literally threadbare. Bed was hard. Dining room is okay. I encourage management to invest some money in an upgrade.

Nice hotel in a great location to see the sights!

Posted Jul 21, 2016
Pros: The convenient location as a base was what we most appreciated.
Cons: THE WIFI!!! We joined the suggested membership to get wifi included at no additional cost. The connection was slow and the connection inconsistent.
We enjoyed our 5 night stay in a village view room. We loved our small balcony with its view of the gardens of the National Palace across the street. The room was very spacious and the beds comfortable. We didn't eat at the hotel so we can't really evaluate that aspect of the hotel. The front desk staff personnel were polite and professional.

This hotel is in the middle of the town. It was very comfortable. Had no problem. They have parking. No wifi, though. You pay extra for it. Didn't try the breakfast.
