This is not the worst place I've stayed, but it is certainly not the best. The man behind the counter was friendly enough, but the rest of the experience can be described as 'meh'. I requested two non-smoking rooms, but it seems that they gave me one non-smoking and one smoking in order to keep the rooms together. The reason I believe I was given a smoking room is because there was a cigarette odor when I walked in, the ceiling was a golden tinge, and the smoke detector was removed.
In the room, a couple light fixtures did not work, and it would have been wise for me to have brought some flip flops for the shower. A couple pillows had stains on them as well.
Despite the previous comments, it did seem like there had been effort put into cleaning the rooms. There were no crumbs on the floor and the beds were neatly made. TV worked fine. I did not check the microwave, fridge, or coffee maker.
Be aware that currently the building is under renovation, and the people who are renovating do not tidy up well when they leave. You have to walk over a large tarp covered with what looks like drywall dust to get to your room (at least this is the case if you are upstairs).
Overall, I would say that this Quality Inn does not deserve the 8/10 rating that is showed on Hotels.com. The Google review of 2.5ish stars is more accurate. The place was just okay.
