We have just returned from our one night stay, the parking was good charged at £15 for the night. Check in was easy and our room was clean and a good size with a comfy bed, breakfast in the morning was buffet style which was very good, and we would certainly return again in the future.

We had a fabulous 2 night stay! The staff were welcoming and friendly. The room was large with great facilities. It had a hairdryer, iron and kettle. The breakfast was absolutely delicious in a lovely dining area. We will be back!

Great service from the start and good facilities. Excellent breakfast. The only downside for me was that the bathroom is a wet room which meant the floor was very wet after I showered and didn’t dry out.

This is hotel is in a lovely waterfront location with great views. The rooms are comfortable spacious and clean, breakfast was very good and the staff friendly and helpful. A great place to stay!

Avoid the breakfast
Room good, but our stay was let down by an extremely poor breakfast. I can see why it was included in the price because you wouldn’t pay for it as an extra. It was cold, left out too long & look unappetising. Basic sliced bread. Luke warm coffee. Surely it can’t be that hard to produce a breakfast.

This was our 4 year of staying here and we where really disappointed on the room when we first booked in the room seamed fine on returning after been out for evening the room hsd a really strong smell of food which was there through the night also room hsd a strong smell of sweaty feet around the bed Found this really uncomfortable felt as though the room needed a deep clean

Stayed in one of the suites, nice spacious room but couldn't see out of the windows they were filthy 😳 if you know you are expecting guests make an effort and clean the windows its the first thing you see when walking in, i know the weather isn't that good and the windows will get dirty but come on they looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a while. Breakfast was disgusting the so xalled scrabbled egg looked like slop the bacon well over cooked and rock hard and the hash browns full of grease and well over cooked..... will not be staying here again no way.....

The suites have many large windows overlooking the lake and sea, and indeed sometimes the rain can affect the view out of the windows. I am sorry though, that you were disappointed. Apologies as well that you did not enjoy your breakfast. We are a 4-star hotel and maintain very high standards. Out of thousands of reviews, we maintain high review ratings accross all sites, but if your experience what you wanted it to be I am very sorry. Birthday Treat in a very cold December
We stayed in a suite for a special occasion and picked Southport because it's on a direct line from our local train station so didn't need to take the car. Check in (and out) was easy, the lady on reception was lovely, friendly and very helpful (sorted out our late checkout). We had a drink in the bar lounge which was cosy. The room was gorgeous, beautiful views, robes, slippers and lovely and warm (-4 outside). Had room service pizzas for dinner, which was brought up by a very smart young man and all as requested, tasty and still hot. Plenty of towels, tea, coffee and bottled water. Breakfast the next morning was relaxed and staff were on top of everything, keeping the tables clean and replenishing items as they ran out. Lots of hot and cold buffet options to choose from. We had a brilliant time and thoroughly recommend this hotel. The hotel is a short walk, maybe 10 mins, stroll from the train station. Overlooks the swan lake and very quiet. Plenty of shops, cafés and restaurants in the vicinity. Had a lovely relaxed drink with entertainment (singer) and waiter service at The Grand, followed by live band and something a bit noisier at The Chophouse until the early hours. Lunch was at The Hungry Monk and was also excellent - definitely recommended

The hotel was very nice, the only negative that we could find was the the cooked breakfast on all 4 mornings was stone cold, it was if the hotplates hadn't been turned on.

A nice hotel, would stay again
A good location in the centre of Southport. A nice restaurant and bar area with a relaxing feel. Overall good value and the best of a three night break in different hotels. Only negatives, limited breakfast options for vegans, the empty building nextdoor which tainted the view and the parking was expensive.

Holiday review
We have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions under different names. All though the facilities are the same this time felt very different. Yes the rooms where clean and comfortable, the windows in our room where nailed shut and as the sun had been shining in all day it was very hot, we did put the air in on but it took a while to chill the room as it only went down to 19c. Found it more expensive but that’s the same everywhere these days. The bar didn’t have any real ale or bitter as this is what my partner drinks overall an ok stay but not the great stay we normally have.
