Great hotel, close to Vic Falls.

Pros: Everything.
Location: Lots of activities. Too many to mention, but highlights were Vic Falls, a sunset cruise on the Zambezi and the Royal Livingstone Express train.
Loved the hotel. Everything you need. Very special to have animals grazing within touching distance and without fear of humans. Friendly and helpful staff. All speak very good English. Will definitely return.

Great place to enjoy Victoria Falls

This was our second stay at Avani and highly recommend it. It's a easy walk to the Falls, wonderful breakfast buffet and staff. The animals are a real treat especially the monkeys! It's a easy walk over to the Royal Livingstone for sundowners and close to town for the museum and market

Sehr engagiertes Personal

Pros: Das Personal ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Die Viktoriafälle sind in wenigen Minuten erreichbar und der Eintritt ist frei.
Cons: Die Sauberkeit der Zimmer könnte an manchen Stellen besser sein.
Die Zimmer sind nicht besonders groß, wobei dies nicht wichtig ist, da man die meiste Zeit draußen unterwegs ist. Die Lage im Nationalpark ist einfach toll und man kann in der Anlage Giraffen und Zebras beobachten.

Pros: Es ist die günstigere Alternative zum Royal Livingstone Hotel. Man jedoch alle Annehmlichkeiten des Royal Livingstone mitnutzen.

Disappointing Security

The hotel is right next to the entrance to the Zambia side of Victoria Falls and includes entry to the park. Decent amenities at the resort, but it could use another restaurant and a fitness center. The activity desk is efficient at setting up various activities in the area. The security services were a disappointment. The hotel tells the guests to keep a distance from the animals and not harass them. On two separate occasions, the security staff did not stop guests from chasing animals with remote controlled vehicles. The second time, two security members were watching the person interact with the impala using a quad copter.

Location is great - can walk to the Victoria Falls. Would rate the hotel as a 3 star, room was small, service lacking, hotel a bit tacky.

Been coming for years and sad to see the name has been changed from the more traditional African name, The Zambezi Sun, to Avani (Indian baby name for Earth). I prefer this property over the Royal Livingstone due to its traditional African theme hotel. We enjoyed the delicious meals beside the pool for lunch and supper each day (the supper buffet inside the restaurant was overpriced and only a handful of guests were willing to pay to eat there) The breakfast buffet was deliclous and the staff excellent (especially the young woman Moo). We were taken back by the music played at meals. Classical music at breakfast? 80's American music at dinner played by the live band? In years past there has always been a live band playing authentic African music with steel drums. Why change the music?!?! We appreciate the common facilities and availability to visit and use the Royal Livingstone. We took advantage of the sundowners at the Royal Livingstone and the most amazing pedicure at The Royal Spa overlooking the Zambezi river while listening to hippos playing in the river. The proximity to Victoria Falls is by far the best feature of this property, it's walking distance which allowed us to visit the falls each day. Overall we highly recommend this property and will be back again. We hope the traditional music will be played upon our return.

We still have our original band playing in the evenings, they are known as Los Comrados and have been here since the hotel opened, it could perhaps be that on the evening you dined with us they were on a night off, they are not here on a Thursday and Sunday nights, we also still have our Marimba Band playing African music daily at the pool over the lunch hour. I am so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and had a wonderful holiday, I hope that you have taken many memories back home with you and we hope to see you again soon in Zambia in the near future.
