Great location and fantastic staff.

Posted Dec 15, 2016
Great place for a trip to the falls. The staff went the extra mile to make our trip special (for our anniversary)...Jennifer at the activities centre was especially helpful and so was the manager at the restaurant who went out of his way to create a special meal (not on the menu)...from champagne in the room (compliments of the hotel) to a fantastic sunset cruise with Frederick and others it was truly a fab stay! Thank you all!

Pros: I liked the stunning location by the river, the space in the room, the spa, and the staff.
Cons: Currency exchange.
Location: Access to town and Victoria Falls. Can do everything.
Friendly staff. Very good fish and meat on the menu, good bar too. Stunning view on the Zambezi river. Excellent Spa. Would go back.

An excellent choice in Livingstone

Posted Dec 5, 2016
Pros: - Beautiful location and infrastructure - Amazing staff
This is a very nice hotel. Everything from the room to the staff is just great. It's located waterfront, the river can be seen from all over the place. The staff is just helpful and amazing, probably the best service I've ever gotten at a hotel. I got very good recommendation on booking activities in the area and how to move around and even cross the border for a day trip. I can't recommend more this hotel.

Comfortable hotel, adjacent to the Zambesi River

Pros: Location, friendliness of staff
Interesting programmes offered; especially the elephant encounter (with 5-star lunch!) is highly recommended. A perfect place to sit back and relax.

Nice hotel , on river, near to airport and falls

Posted Aug 8, 2016
Generally a good hotel. Nice location. Rooms ok, clean, but could be enhanced with further decoration. Could also be better sound proofed. Food ok. Good buffet breakfast. Had a good 2 night stay with family. Staff overall pleasant and helpful.

The closeness to the river was awesome

The staff overall were very friendly and courteous. My memorable experience was with the cruise, and massage staff . However, the hotel rates/ price could be lower to woe more visitors.

Nice Hotel inside the park

Posted Sep 15, 2015
The hotel has a beautiful view of the river from the lobby, restaurant, infinity pool and guest rooms. The staff was friendly and helpful and we enjoyed sitting in the lobby while waiting for various activities. We'd occasionally see animals on the grounds and guards patrol the area to protect guests. The guests are advised to close the doors to the in-room balcony when not in use to prevent monkeys from coming into the room. With the rolling power outages throughout the country, we would have liked to have a screen to let in fresh air while the door was closed (without bugs). The en suit bathroom was beautiful with a separate tub and shower. We enjoyed the shower, unfortunately, the shower door was designed to allow water all over the bathroom floor. In all, the hotel was beautiful, the food was good, and we enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful Property

Posted Sep 5, 2015
Pros: The food was amazingly good as was the staff!
Cons: Screened in area to sit out in the evening and enjoy the property! Too many mosquitoes
The hotel was nice! Staff was great! The food was awesome! There were no indoor or screened in restaurants or lounging area to really enjoy the property in the evenings because of the mosquitoes. This made for an uncomfortable stay!

Bad Service and Bed Bugs at David Livingstone Hote

Posted Aug 26, 2015
Pros: The staff in the kitchen during breakfast and dinner were accommodating and very attentive and there was a good variety of food and it was good!
Cons: The attitude of those in management, the service at the spa and finally they need to treat their hotel for bed bugs!
Location: Victoria Falls, Mukuni Big 5, Mukuni Village and Zambezi Cafe
First let me start with the positive attributes of our stay at the David Livingstone, 1) the staff in the kitchen during breakfast and dinner were accommodating and very attentive, 2) there was a good variety of food and it was good! I especially enjoyed the ostrich stew! At the front desk, Mark Katongo was very helpful and assisted us promptly with any request made to him during our stay. Unfortunately, beyond these minor accolades, the David Livingstone proved to be well below standards and is absolutely overrated and not worth the money! Service at check in: PRIOR to arrival I made a request via email for a large room with a rollaway bed to accommodate myself and two friends visiting from Washington DC. After 6 hours with no response I made a direct call to the hotel. The front desk manager advised that this would be possible and to proceed with booking with them for our stay. We immediately booked the room. A few hours later, however, we received an email from reservations stating this was NOT possible and that we need to pay another $400/night for a second room. I replied stating that we were advised it was indeed possible and this guidance influenced us to book the room which was non-refundable and that we would be arriving the next day. I never received a reply from this response. My guests and I flew in and upon trying to check in they refused to allow us to stay in the larger room with a rollaway bed stating that we were mis-guided and needed to buy anothe
