We booked a standard room the last minute and the room we got was in such a bad state. It had no windows except for one on the ceiling with continuous noise of seagulls. The flush tank in bathroom was leaking continuously resulting in wetting the room carpet as well. There are no phones in rooms to call reception, they have no Wi-Fi in rooms. After complaining, all they did was put a bunch of towels on bathroom floor. After a while the commode also got full of water and was in unusable condition. They finally agreed to change our room for the next day but we wasted a huge bulk of money for that one night without any rest and sleep.

The property was on the sea view but the conditions of the property was too poor . The lock of the main door wasn’t fully locked & i complained but wasn’t fixed. Even the sink in the bathroom was too small and separate tab for cold and hot water which doesn’t make any sense. I paid too much for this property

The downstairs of the property were lovely and well maintained, the bedroom had been recently renovated badly, poor paintwork etc, heating was provided by a portable electric radiator because the big radiator was turned off... the bed was like a park bench... other facilities were ok and clean. Dont think I'd stay there again unless like this time it was cheap... Only one member of staff on the reception although there were staff milling about but didn't want to help the girl struggling with the numbers booking in...

Stayed Feb 24 room only. In summary: Stunning location on bay by cliffs. Old hotel undergoing refurb one floor at a time. Reception tidy with character. Room decor dated but warm and clean. Outside yet to be tidied and neighbouring site derelict. Price compares favourably to other Llandudno hotels. Main concern was that new carpet on 3rd floor fitted so that 2 HR fire door could not shut. Each floor has 5 rooms facing internal courtyard that lack natural light. An average hotel at a reasonable price.

The staff could not have been more helpful and the hotel was very clean and warm, the food served at breakfast was excellent and the variety was very good. The building itself was very interesting and the history was fascinating. Refurbishment was ongoing while we there which tended to take a bit of the shine off our experience but these things have to be done. All in all a very good stay with the only complaints that the room seemed a bit cramped and the bed was old.

Property itself clean,on first arrival in the room there was a terrible smell from the bathroom that smelt like sewage which filled the entire room as the bathroom door was left open. We only had two hand towels provided luckily we took our own. We also asked a member of staff if we could buy some bottled waters that evening and we were refused as the bar was closed.and we were woken early morning by workmen checking to see if anyone was in the room as they wanted to start renovations builders and painters were on the entire first floor and it could have been more relaxing if the hotel filled the other floors while work was carried out on the first floor away from public

On arrival we was handed an envelope with the card to get into our room but when we got to the room there was no card. I went down to receiption she gave me another card but the room hadn't been serviced so I went down again and they changed the room she did apologise.

Overall it was very good , the hotel was clean and comfortable, the only thing I wanted a shower in the evening but the water didn’t get hot enough but in the morning it was nice hot and stable.

Honest review.
Last minute night away - not sure what to expect based on reviews I'd read, this is my honest review. On arrival pleasantly surprised by the reception area, quick check in, door card wouldn't work, this was sorted straight away. Room clean and tidy, bedding very neat and clean. Dated bathroom, mixer tap shower which was difficult to regulate temperature. Balcony needs sweeping/tidying. Nice bar area with lots of seating. Breakfast was good, hot food and lots of choice. You pay for what you get, it's a no frills hotel, you're not going to get a luxury experience. Things that could improve the hotel are cleaning the balcony areas and cleaning the windows, especially the windows on the stairs looking out to sea - these small things would make a huge difference. It's an old building and clearly has has limited money spent on it over the years however they can only work with what they've got. Could be amazing. Great location. Needs baby changing as they do not have any in any of the toilets. Overall no complaints.

Booked this hotel unknowing of anything about Llandudno really, me and my partner went for a night just to try somewhere new, when we arrived at the hotel it was like walking into the 1970s and not in a good way, the hotel was shabby and outdated, and had a musky smell which was unsettling. We got a sea view room which was on the 5th floor, we were given a key card to get in but it didn’t work so I had to go back down again to get the issue sorted, when we got into the room I was expecting something good as I’d paid £130 for one night for a double room with a sea view, but when we walked in it was like I’d stepped off a plane into the Antarctic, it was absolutley freezing with no central heating, just a plug in portable heater which did absolutely nothing. The room was awful honestly, the painting was peeling off the walls and the wallpaper was dirty, the bed was extremely uncomfortable and all Over the window there was cigarette marks where people had been smoking and putting them out, the shower is also horrendous you couldn’t fill a cup with the amount that it sprays out. I thought I had booked a good hotel, but we had met quite a few people when we went out who asked where we were staying, and when we told them the grand they found it funny as it has a reputation of being the worst hotel in Llandudno, so it’s safe to say we made a mistake going there and I would not recommend it to anyone honestly stay well clear of this one haha

Checked in on a Saturday. Information told us check in was from 1600 mon-fri and on other days from 1400. Arrived at 20 to 2 and waited in bar. Barmaid was stood round other side and not paying attention to customers waiting at the bar. Staff kept telling us room wasnt ready. Didnt tell us until half 3 that we wouldnt be able to get our room until 4. Was a double room for two guests but only one towel provided. Not a great view out window as it was of another corridor Next door neighbours were incredibly loud and disturbed us throughout the night. No respect for other guests considering the thin walls of the old building. Have video with sound of how loud the disturbance was. Also heard screams from upstairs and people running about at around 2am. Was quite concerning. On the other hand, shower pressure and bathroom cleanliness was great and mattress was comfortable. Would perhaps stay again in another room with a view and balcony, although having booked that morning and the twin room being £99 for the night, i guess you get what you pay for

Run down, windows in rooms filthy, cobwebs on ceilings, blind in bathroom broken, no facilities available, lift broken, staff in bar on phones and one guy was running his boss down an how much he hates him, adverised menu was not what was served and poor quality food for £15 per head. Not worth 1 star let alone 3 !!!! This place needs a seroius refurbishment, property reflects the attitude of the staff who clearly are not managed and do not care !!

It was a nice stay for one night. But needs improving now. Little things like soap dispensers were empty etc and the breakfast was really poor for £10. Instant coffee and fried bread. That is ok if that's what people like but you shouldn't charge £10 for it.
