Nice hotel, staff were friendly, rooms clean

Nice hotel, staff were friendly, rooms clean and had been recently refurbished and was quite big with good facilities. The spa area is nice, although not much seating/loungers around the pool. Restaurant was ok. Breakfast had a good selection and was nice, but it was Luke warm. Overall a very enjoyable stay. Within walking distance of Llangollen.

Excelent beds and bedding.

Pros: The decoration. The heat of the water in the spa pool. The beds and bedding.
Cons: Read above in experience.
Location: Good location, to visit Llangollen town.Pleanty of walking areas around.
Tastfully decorated. Staff friendley and approachable.Would appreciate some form of details in the bedroom. Such as details of facilities in the hotel eg. spa details.what time you are able to order food,is there any room service? Evening meal menues in the morning, so food can be ajusted through the day. A plastic cup in the bathroom for oral toilet use. A mirror over the dressing table area.Ordering of daily newspapers to the hotel. Our en-suite door was unable to be closed. I appreciate that the hotel was only recentley reopened but there is definatley some snagging to be carried out to obtain the correct stars deserved.

Clean, modern and comfortable hotel

The hotel is very modern and clean. It is in a quiet location with only a short walk along the river to the centre of Llangollen. The Spa looks lovely from outside but it wasn't open when we were there. It was a bit of a shame we weren't informed of this beforehand but we didn't let that affect our stay. Breakfast was very nice and all the staff friendly and polite. Would definitely recommend this hotel to all.

Hotel had just opened that day , it was great , staff really helpful , manager couldn't do enough for us , made my birthday with my family who live near hotel a great weekend , when the rest of the hotel opens it will great , definitely going to book a suite again next year , well done to the new owner on colour and style choices

Good hotel but in need of tlc

Facilities at the hotel were good on the whole and it was nice to have the use of the spa. Food and service in the restaurant were very good and there was plenty of choice at breakfast. The room, however, was not of a good standard. It was clean and the bed was comfortable but the general decor was tired and the room was in need of refurbishment. The bathroom was small and the shower cubicle would have been tricky for anyone of above average size. My advice would be to go for an upgrade from the standard double to one of the superior rooms - we have stayed at the hotel twice before and upgraded both times. As it was only an overnight stay this time we didn't bother but on reflection maybe we should have.

Comfortable, quiet, warm, excellent breakfast, v good reception service. Shower not good...weak and awkward to use. Loo paper too far away from toilet. Neither TV worked properly which could have been more of a nuisance if we had wanted to stay in.

Run down

We've haven't stayed at the Wild Pheasant for 5 years and we were quite surprised nothing seems to have changed in that time. The spa area really needs a good clean and repainting. It looks very run down. Our room was clean but smelt strongly of cigarette smoke which for two non smokers wasn't very nice. The hotel staff were very helpful. I just felt asthough it really needs some money spent to update the decor as it looks very run down. The main restaurant serves some lovely food but it looked very run down to us. The carpet in there was very dirty and it was such a shame to see such a nice building in a lovely little town not meeting its full potential. I don't think we would stay here again, the price you pay is not worth the quality of the hotel. It is in a desperate need of a deep clean, new carpets and repainting.
