Rooms were clean and spacious staff were all great and approachable love the spa facilities excellent break did have a noisy neighbour but staff promptly dealt with it excellent service

non accommodating in finding a table for two for dinner at 1800. and was told to come back at 2000. At the time of the enquiry the dining room was completely empty.. No attempt apologise or come up with an option and 2000 for a meal was too late for us

2 night stay
Looked like room hadn’t been used for a while as dead spider in bath. Also there were only 2 coffee sachets there which turned out to be decaf so had not been topped up since previous guests had stayed. Bedding and towels were clean and fine but carpet was filthy, so bad that I had to wear shoes as I’d forgotten to take slippers. Stayed 2 nights and when we came back into the room after being out during the day housekeeping had topped up coffee, hot chocolate sachets etc and had just pulled the duvet up towards pillows but not sorted it properly nor was the room hoovered. Very disappointing.

Honest review of our visit
Really nice hotel, however did look as if it was understaffed. We did check in later than expected and was surprised no room service was on offer. Room was clean and tidy as expected

No sleep room like a furnace
Room like a furnace ,due to 4inch pipe running through ,had window wide open and still couldnt sleep Requested a fan , had a reply that one would be in room however no fan Reciepts on floor from previous week Lesiure centre and the person working there was the only plus points

Lovely break
We love this hotel and stay regularly throughout, staff are great, rooms comfortable and the leisure facilities are brilliant. My only criticism is the breakfast, pretty terrible given how great eveything else is. Not worth the money, would highly recommend skoosh across the road - so much cheaper and amazing food.

A old building with charm, but outside needs a paint, the windows were rotten. We had a lovely bathroom, but the chocolate brown paint in bedroom was awful. The bed was very comfy and facilities in room very good, we ignored the broken bathroom window, we never ate food at the hotel but had a drink, found the on tap cocktails very overpriced, not even a bit of fruit or a straw.

Staff missing for 5 minutes at check in. Booked twin room, given a double, beds split on request but sheets too small for bed so didn’t reach under pillows, but comfortable mattresses. Waited an hour and a quarter from ordering for dinner to be served, although waitress mistakenly tried to serve cheese and biscuits before dinner. Wrong drink served, rectified then duplicate drink brought to table. Sink in bathroom cracked. Dining room staff chaotic but remained polite and pleasant despite having to deal with frustrated diners

Hotel in transitional period having been taken over. Outside needs a bit of freshening up but our bedroom (grandparents and child) was clean and beds very comfortable. Like many old Scottish hotels rooms are on varying corridor levels and not suitable for disabled although they may be able to accommodate somewhere. Breakfast was extra although some sites say pay £10, but I was advised by hotel that price was for room only, meals in addition. Breakfast was adequate , evening meal fine and staff very pleasant. Couple of minor problems were fixed very quickly with apologies . Enjoyed our stay.

A comfortable overnight stay.
This was an overnight stay being the closest hotel I could find to the wedding venue in Killearn. The hotel was comfortable, the staff were friendly (especially at breakfast), the hot water was plentiful and the breakfast was great. Unfortunately I didnt get a chance to use the pool. I would recommend the hotel.

Just off square.
Unique hotel that was a bit spread out. We had 4 rooms & were separated by quite a walk. Love the access to athletic club, but very odd hours & rules. Kids didn’t get to enjoy pool like planned. Beds & pillows were just ok. We came during a warmer than usual time & our room took awhile to cool down. Visit drymen bakery & deli, Buchanan castle ruins & glengoyne distillery while here. Hit stirling castle on your way to/from. Our group agreed enjoyed more than Edinburgh Castle.

Easy to find and in a lovely village not far from Loch Lomond, but this hotel is clearly in dire need of an update. The room seemed clean enough, but we didn't have much a a view out the window - a dirty roof occupied by several birds intent on fighting at every opportunity! Bed was comfortable, bathroom was adequate, but the shower was not great. We were rudely awaken at 2:30am by the fire alarm going off, which lasted a few seconds, and the same thing happened at 7am. Didn't get an apology or an explanation when we checked out. The bar area was very good despite being so dated, but it was a comfortable place to have a nightcap or two. Drymen village was very nice, pleasant people and an enjoyable meal at the Drymen Inn. Overall, it was a shame the hotel didn't match the surrounding area, and my ears are still ringing from the fire alarm issues!

Very comfortable for an overnight stay.
Stayed here for an overnight stop whilt travelling from the South East to Inverness. Hotel was very comfortable. Very large room - spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed for an overnight stop. Our first room had an issue with the toilet flush. Reported to reception and we were moved straight away to the room next door.
