Good hotel close to Basel.

Posted Jun 23, 2017
Pros: Tea/coffee available in room.Room also has its own safe. The travel card given at check in was a big help travelling to and from Basel.
Cons: A mini bar in room would have been good.
Location: There are pubs and (mainly Chinese) restaurants close by.The Bayeler Insitute Art Gallery is also close - on way into Basel.
This is a good 3 star hotel that I used when visiting Basel.Found the staff friendly and helpful, the room was a bit small but clean and comfortable and the breakfast room was pleasant. The hotel is 20-25 minutes outside of Basel by S-Bahn but there is a frequent half hourly service which will take you to /from both Basel main station and Basel Bad station.Riehen is also on the route if you want to visit Fondation Beyeler gallery. The S-Bahn station is a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. If you're happy with the short commute into Basel then I'd be happy to recommend this hotel as you'll probably find it more economical than those in Basel city centre.

Best of both countries righ on the border

Posted Jan 27, 2016 on Hotels
Nice clean German hotel. Attentive staff. Comfortable bed. Right on the border, and within easy walk of some great restaurants. Only one small tip. Breakfast opens at 7. Go at 7. If you wait, all the good (and warm) stuff is gone. You will be down to the grapefruit joghurt and fish. That being said it looks to be a great hotel breakfast if you go on time. I will go back.

Neat + functional if you need to be in the area

Posted Jul 28, 2015 on Hotels
An overnight stay prior to visting a local client. The staff were welcoming, free WiFi worked well and the breakfast is good. Downsides were; a small desk; nasty smell of damp in the shower; lack of air conditioning. But for an overnight that's less important.

Average hotel. Nice breakfast.

The room was quite small and in quite bad shape. The window blinds did not work for example. The staff was all nice. The breakfast buffet was surprisingly well equipped and very good.

Not best value

Posted May 17, 2013
Upgraded, but room looked shabby. It was otherwise OK. Bathroom was newly renovated, and was good. I had a lot of difficulty connecting to the WiFi, and the resturant refused to serve me (they were busy and I was only 1 person - they said minimum of 4 required to be seated).

Ok aber nicht mehr

Posted Aug 6, 2017 on Hotels

Posted Apr 7, 2017 on Hotels
Das Frühstücksbuffet bot alles was man braucht.
