The Retreat Cabin | Hocking Hills

The Retreat is a popular 4 bedroom cabin that sleeps up to 10 guests and 2 pets. Its located just a few miles from Old Man's Cave, and has been professionally decorated. There are 3 levels of living space, a great upper level master suite, and lower level game room! The Retreat is within walking distance of Dragonfly Lodge, Night Song and Woods Edge, so its great for a stand alone rental or can be rented in combination of others for a larger group! Must be 25 years or older to rent. AWD/4WD recommended.

Love this place!!

This was exactly what we were looking for and it was as advertised. 4 separate bedrooms so everyone had their own space. We used the fire pit, hot tub, and the kitchen was well-stocked with everything but the food :)

A few days in Hocking Hills

Enjoyed our stay. The House is very nice and the beds are comfortable. The owner should be advised that there is a broken drawer in the kitchen, and a tear in a chair on the back deck. Loved the location.

Great getaway

This cabin met all of our needs! The 4 bedrooms and loft accommodated my family of 5 along with another couple. The furniture on the porch and deck invited us to sit back and relax. Would definitely return to this exact spot in the future!

Getaway Weekend

The property was gorgeous! The cabin was stocked with everything that was listed online. It was a great chance for all of us to get away for the weekend. We had a little bit of trouble getting the Wifi to work at times but other than that we really enjoyed our stay!

Nice stay

The cabin is in a nice location. It was definitely cozy with 10 people and 2 dogs. We are responsible pet owners and cleaned up after our dogs, but there were many “land mines” around the cabin. It was a short stay so we chose to overlook dead remote batteries and a bent foosball rod. It was clean and the hot tub was a nice addition.

Amazing time at the Retreat

Had an amazing time with my spouse and friends! We loved the fact that it was fairly close to the hiking spots. and if there was a need for something we forgot the town was close enough to travel to, for the items in which we were in need of. The cabin had the basics. All of us enjoyed the peace and quiet of the setting. We will be doing this more in the future!

Camp with the boys!

very nice camp and location. convenient to the local stores but enough out of the way to enjoy nature. the amenities in camp made it WAY better than other camps without a dishwasher, clothes washer and microwave. Almost spoiled!! The only recommendation is that if you have a camp that says it sleeps 10 people then it should have more than 8 dinner plates. We highly recommend this place!

Great weekend getaway

Our girls weekend was great! The house was as described. We had plenty of kitchen items. Plenty of beds for sleeping. Fire pit worked out great. We didn’t use the hot tub but it was clean. The location was close to the hiking sites we planned on going to. The only thing that we didn’t love was that there was only one shower. The master bedroom had a jacuzzi tub, but it would have been more practical if there was a shower instead.

very nice, well maintained cabin!

Well built and maintained! Very clean - no bugs at all! Perfect size for 8 adults and 3 dogs! Quick response from property manager, (even on a weekend.) Maintenance man, Chance, came quickly, was knowledgeable, courteous and helpful. Only reason for 4 out of 5 stars is because of the continuous septic smell. But manager said they would get it checked.

Property was great.We had a lovely stay with my 4 Adult childern,my husband and I,MY brother and sister in law also joined. Lots of hiking , and water things to do.. We will come back in the future to see more of it .Quick suggestion to the owners to get locking garage cans.. The racoons got in our garbage several times...Other then garbage cans cabin was clean and neat 0n arrival.. Thanks for the stay Matt and THerese

Nice cabin with several problems

The propane on the grill ran out after about 10 minutes of use. The water was BROWN. The master bedroom had no shower . .only a small jaccuzi....which we had difficulty getting to drain. There was no hot water to fill it more than 4 inches deep after filling it not half full. The worst part was the mud in the water...the mud settled out in the tub and left a solid brown coating of mud on the bottom of the tub....of course, we did not try to drink the water. The main table only sat 6 people and there only 8 dinner plates . The cabin sleeps 9. ...Other than those problems...the cabin was quite nice....There were plenty of towels, soap, etc. and everything was clean.

Nice Cabin but needs a few tweeks

We enjoyed our time at the cabin. However, there are a few items that need attention. 1. The Dishwasher top shelf is broken which affects the wash cycle. 2. All the bathroom towels were the lowest quality I have ever experienced in a rental cabin. They were rough and like rags I use to was the car with at home. 3. The two plastic trash cans, to be kept out on the back porch, were easily knocked over one night of our stay by a heavy rain and the raccoons tore open every plastic bag inside and everything was strewn all over the back porch. We cleaned it up and tried to secure the cans the next couple of nights. Why are you not using metal, heavy duty cans with locking lids? 4. in the hot tub, a number of the jets seemed to be broken or putting out very little power. 5. It was advertised that the cabin had internet which we counted on. None of us got more than 1 bar and sometimes no bars even while switching to Wifi. This was difficult as we were planning on communicating with family in Columbus while we were gone. With all that said, we had a great time with family. Hope you can improve your cabin so it will be a 5-star experience for future customers.

Family get together

We had a wonderful time at the cabin. The cabin was almost perfect for our goal if having fun as a family. I would suggest more outside lighting. After dark the steps to the parking lot were impossible to see. Lights were also needed on the parking lot. The lot is small with a drop off on one side that made it hard to move a car during the day and really hard at night. We had four cars and the lot was full.

Great location for trails!

Cabin was clean, lots of towels to accommodate our family. Location was great. Very well stocked kitchen. Gas grill worked great. Porch swing and hot tub were nice to enjoy the scenery. Firepit was large and wood was delivered and on the porch waiting for us. The cabin was set down a hill, steep drive and could have used a little more parking. Not any flat ground to play lawn games. Slight but noticeable septic smell outside and in the upstairs bathroombathroom.

Very nice stay, was looking for more seclusion but it lived up to the listing. More notification on not having internet, we went 2 days without due to router not being reset on arrival. Close to the state park which was a big plus.

Great spot for two families of 4

Cabin was great but the outside smelled like septic every few minutes. Didn't ruin the trip but made sitting around the firepit and in the hot tub much less pleasant. No response from property manager when I reached out. I wouldn't hesitate to book again if the septic issue is resolved.
