A fabulous holiday. Words are REALLY not enough. The current rating is absolutely true and on the money. The facilities are great, modern, clean and spacious. The management is professional, friendly, efficient and proactive. The food exceeded all our expectations. We looked forward to every single meal with anticipation - especially the lunches and dinners - amazing. Even the breakfasts with the home made hash browns were a highlight. The staff are so friendly, yet attentive. Willing to help and meet any need we had and pride themselves on great service. All the staff were fantastic - in the restaurant, in the bar, the housekeeping ladies, the maintenance guys, the activities staff and the musicians. (and they have a very good sense of humour and fun- once they get to know you). The location, the views, the lack of TV, the serenity, or - if desired the activity are the perfect holiday that we wanted. If you like fishing then it is great for fly, game and lure fishing. There are plenty of trevally, barracuda and other small athletic fish - including some Coral species of trout and grouper. The Island is small and away from ANY hustle and bustle. There is no 'kid's club' ! The photo opportunities are endless and the snorkelling is super ! Absolutely perfect - a magnificent getaway from a busy working life. There is NO question - we will be back to visit Toberua Island - as is the phrase 'It's your Island' - it is mine now ! We would go back next week if we could.
This was my first stop in Fiji. It is a budget hotel but the accommodations for the money are impressive. Don't expect anything fancy. However for the price, its certainly more than what I expected. The quarry is beautiful and nice to dine next to. The best reason to stay here is if your focus is treks into the rain forest which is just up the road. The owners of Colo did the best they could to accommodate any special requests I had while I was there. Also there is apparently great bird-watching, (I am not a bird watcher), and was taken on an excellently informed bird walk at 6:30am by Vindo who you can find working at the entrance to the rain forest. He is very knowledgeable and loves taking folks on tours on his off hours.
