stayed in a deluxe 1 bed room. Check in was smooth. The deposit is a bit different from usual hotel stays but it stated that clearly upon booking. Stayed for 1 night to allow for easy visit to museum next day and used kitchen for easy dinner and breakfast. We left luggage at hotel after check out which left us free for our museum visit. Staff at reception desk were friendly and helpful. Would definitely consider this place again if I was staying in London for more than 1 night.

The handy location of the hotel is a good factor. The bar on the ground floor is a comfortable place to sit and relax. The room had all the facilities (en suite, ironing board, etc) but was very small. Fine for sleeping but not a place to spend a lot of time.

An amazing experience. A surprise for my husband's 50th and what a surprise it was. The view from our room was breathtaking, we swam in the pool and drank cocktails in the bar on the 53rd floor, the breakfast was delicious. The whole experience is one we will cherish.

Chic, well-located Soho hotel. Great amenities - streaming music, free wi-fi, coffee and tea, nice bath products. Lovely, helpful staff. However, no breakfast room, and rooms are on the expensive and small side.

I started using The Gore some 20 years ago, along with the meanwhile defunct Basil Street Hotel in Knightsbridge, as both exemplified old-fashioned British hospitality and warmth. It is a bit tedious to walk from the respective South Kensington or Gloucester Road tube station, as Queens Gate really stretches towards Hyde Park. But other than that, the flair and set-up of the hotel is quite wonderful as long as you end up on the first three floors, espcially the fifth floor without direct elevator access is a burden. Staff was extremely helpful and after check-out, I spent several hours in the library to get ready for my return to Paris.
