Pros: Nothing at all
Location: Location is ok, near by Paddington station .
I found my self moved to the next door hotel ( Alexandria hotel, 10 Sussex place ), in a room on the fourth floor , no lift, very bad & narrow stairs, no staff to help for the luggage , plus no sings for the WC & the bathroom or the showers. I can't believe that you buy a hotel room & you find your self in other hotel with no staff or reception. Well this is a very bad experience with Expedia , and how they select the hotels to their clients.

Convenient location, a few steps from Paddington S

Excellent choice, the only advice... Don't carry heavy baggage, your room could be in the roof, there is not elevator. The breakfast is good and Barry is a very agreeable guy. Thanks Barry for all you do for your guests !!

Close to Paddington transport points

Posted Oct 4, 2015
Pros: Proximity to transport hub. Helpful staff.
Cons: A ceiling fan in place of the floor fan would help with air circulation/ventilation.
Location: Close to transport, with a host of attractions, natural and man-made, to suit any travellers needs.
Extremely helpful owners and staff. Happy with value for money, close to London. Double room cosy but adequate. Owners helped with booking attractions. Would use again!

Our 2 night stay at Barry House in mid-July

Posted Sep 27, 2015
Pros: The location, the comfortable room and the very friendly staff.
Cons: A lift would improve the experience for elderly people but we managed fine without one.
Location: The location near Paddington Station allows for easy transport via the Tube. Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens are within easy walking distance.
The best feature of Barry House is its proximity to Paddington Station and also to the tranquil surroundings of Hyde Park. We spent several hours strolling through Kensington Gardens alongside the Serpentine Lake, then back via Lancaster Gate and past the Mews to our Hotel in Sussex Place. Apart from its excellent location, Barry House has very friendly staff and the breakfast menu is more than ample. As my wife and I are both 70+, we thought that being allotted a first floor room in a hotel without a lift and with a rather steep staircase might pose a problem. However, thanks to the friendly and helpful staff, who even allowed us to leave our luggage in a secure ground floor office after a.m. check-out on the last day, we need not have had any concerns. Our suitcases were brought up to our room on the first evening by the owner's son and the staff generally could not do enough to provide help whenever we needed it.

Economical. Good place to stay.

Posted Sep 23, 2015
Pros: Proximity to all the things I wanted to see and do.
Cons: I know it is not possible physically, but an elevator would be wonderful.
Location: Good restaurants and a good variety of them. Easy to get to the Tube. Major tourist attractions are a few stops away.
Good place to stay if you want to be near an area (Paddington) that has an active night life. Also good if you just want a place to crash each night of your visit and don't mind small rooms with communal bath facilities. Close to good restaurants and notable stops on the Tube (Circle Line). The breakfasts are hearty and good. The staff is accommodating and eager to please. Unfortunately as a single traveler, I was given a very small room on the top floor. That meant 6-7 flights of stairs to climb every day (no elevator). With a large suitcase, or if you have any back problems, that can be a hassle. But the room was tidy& clean and the bed was comfortable. I would stay there again.

Keep door open for ventilation

Posted Sep 3, 2015
Pros: Good location
My room was in the ground floor. When you were out for sightseeing, the hotel staff kept opening your door and window for "ventilation".

Bobby was extremely helpful and patient. He made sure we understood the advice he was giving and offered us the opportunity to clarify anything we did not understand. He is very knowledgeable I'm all aspects of tourism and has a calming manner in dealing with people.
