Mold in the room, broken lift, basement dungeon, dangerous stairwells, ripped carpeting, broken room lock. Paper thin walls can hear the room next to me until 2am. Shower so small a medium sized person cant even move. No potable water? Is this even legal? No help with bags offered when there is a narrow steep stairwell.

Surprisingly good having read the reviews, our room was a bit shabby, but comfortable bed and warm room, we managed to check in early and the staff were accommodating. View over the London rooftops. Very quiet

Hotel was value for money, that's the best I can say. Mould on the walls, no air in the rooms and poor ventilation. Old and everything needs updating. Breakfast was very poor. Area is OK. You get what you pay for - it was a third of the price of other hotels so I wasn't expecting much and my expectations were met.

OMG! I don't even know where to begin: 1) signage in bathroom says "not safe to drink water." So no where to get water to brush my teeth; 2) room was so tiny i couldn't even get around the bed; 3) and because there was no space, there was no place to put my laugage, so i had to put it on my bed which left only a small area to sleep; 4) but who could sleep on a box spring with no mattress? 5) shower was so tiny i barely fit and I'm only 5'4" and weigh 140 pounds. No gent would ever been able to fit; 6) drain in sink clogged the 2nd day; 7) internet in room was intermittentted and i had to keep going to the lobby to get reconnected; 7) no elevator to the first floor, where i had to go to get the elevator down to the ground (place was really a maze to get thru to my room), so i had to drag it up and down the stairs myself; 8) there was no central computer or phone to use; 9) and the service was unbelievably rude. This was by far the worst hotel i have ever stayed in in my entire life!

Very well situated hotel, right next to Hyde Park and close to the metro. We were lucky to be accepted before the check in time since our room was already free. The bathroom was big and clean but the floor in the room has many spots. Our room was on the ground floor so you have to keep the curtains closed otherwise the people at the street will have a nice view of what’s inside.

This hotel is very deceiving when it comes to the booking photos. In the photos, it just looks outdated, but once you are there, the paint and the wallpaper are peeling and there was what looked to be dried blood on the walls. There were also stains on the ceiling, both water and something else. The toilet also stopped working and we were told to give it 20 minutes, and that maintenance would look at it the next day. Also, I could not find where it was disclosed on the website that you could not drink the tap water, but there is a sign in the bathroom - and then they provide a kettle, but you shouldn’t drink the water, so…? When we reached out about a refund (would have settled for even a partial), we were denied, which is crazy to me considering the photos are false advertising at the least. It’s fair to say that despite the friendly staff, this hotel was one of the worst I have stayed at in London. I do not recommend booking a stay here.

TV did not work, the only elevator's capacity is 2 persons and it had problems. The outside repairs on the building facade are literally at the room's window. On the other side, location is great, one minute to the underground Central line station.

I would not recommend this accommodation to anyone.The rooms were very small and I could hear the noise ftom the other rooms as the walls were so thin. I had a broken mattress and was not able to sleep all night. No manager was on sight throughout the weekend.

I can see you have stayed in room 208 if the mattress was broken as you say it is you should of informed the reception, the reception staff would of moved you straight away but you stayed the one night in 208 our reception is 24 hours if there is any issues you could of spoke to them. no management works on the weekend only from Monday to Friday.

Convenient to Kensington park. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby. The hotel is being restored. Some new features. And still some needing work. Our AC unit didn’t work. The lift did not work but the website said it worked. One staff member said that they had sent a message which was clearly a lie and I caught them out when I asked them to show me the message. The staff were very patronising and told me they had swapped the room to the second floor despite having a relative on a wheel chair.

Upon check the receptionist was quite rude when asking for ID. We had issues with the room key not letting us into the room. They are quick enough to take a £50 damage deposit but then put you in an old room where the carpet is stained, the wallpaper is ripped, the window lock was broken, bathroom was outdated and leaking plus has no plugs to run a bath. I went to the reception desk the following morning and spoke with 2 young about the issues I had with the room. He said that he could upgrade me from where I was but he didn't have any rooms that had separate beds, therefore I had to ask my 12 year old daughter if she was happy sharing a bed. We took the upgrade and it was better than what we had but the circumstances were less than ideal, the new room ended up with a slow draining sink that turned into a blocked one and we only used it for cleaning our teeth and washing our hands. Nothing like what I thought I was booking based on the pictures provided on hotel.com website and I certainly didn't get what I paid for. Breakfast isn't worth the money either, it's a Malaysian restaurant attached to the hotel and it gives just 3 options, 1 is a full English breakfast with chicken sausage and no bacon, the other 2 are Malaysian dishes. The hotel is undergoing renovations which didn't impact on us but you can tell from the online pictures that they have used the new modernised rooms. Very overpriced for what you get but it's in an ideal location for getting around

Staff were curt and gave an air of indifference. Didn't properly explain why a damage deposit was needed nor tell me in advance. Cheap beds but clean linen. Tired old furniture but the shower worked! Breakfast was in the adjacent Malaysian café with very limited options for UK type breakfast. Understandably no pork options in the full cooked breakfast (Muslim country Malaysia) nor cereals nor juice. No issue with this except not advised pre booking and it was expensive for a very poor offer. How the hotel has a 3* rating beyond me. Avoid. There are better hotels in the area, loads of choice.

The place did not look like the pictures , it was older , worn out , the rooms are small , I could hear people walking above , dragging chairs , the heating system was loud and woke me multiple times . The staff was friendly though . I had to pressure them to get another room which was not that great either

Don’t expect much
Firstly, the rooms are a maze to find. We couldn’t find our room so had to go back to reception to ask. There was a window in our room which let air in but we didn’t mind initially as heating was on. We then were woken up in the night due to it being freezing as radiator was no longer on. It was 2am so didn’t fancy leaving my room to speak to someone at the time. Before that my sister and me had been to see a show that evening and when we came back our keys didn’t work after trying for 30 mins. Reception did sort this out. The next morning we both had a shower and found the temperature couldn’t be changed and only had a boiling hot setting! We decided to just had the shower and get on with it and get out!! Raised my concerns with reception but they dismissed everything I had to say so just left.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean. But the overall condition of the room was awful, completely run down, no heating, no cold water, wallpaper falling off walls and carpet thread bare.

This hotel is fairly basic as reflects the price but did a good job of making room for an ensuite shower room, supplying essentials like soap, shower gel and tea and coffee making facilities, and is decently presented although there were a few bits of damage to the wall decoration. Suited my needs for somewhere to stop in town for a night due to the train strike.
