Noisy

Posted Mar 8, 2017
We stayed for one night at The Cromwell which is located on the busy Cromwell Road and very close to Gloucester Road tube station. we were allocated a room in the basement facing the main road, which we found extremely noisy! The noise from the traffic and underground kept us awake through the night...and then to top it off two noisy drunk men were shouting outside our hotel room at some ridiculous hour! The rooms were very small but adequate from one night. The staff were pleasant, the breakfast was decent but could have been hotter, the room was clean and it was a good price! Probably wouldn't stay again though due to the noise factor! My advice to anyone staying here is to take ear plugs!

Dear Sarah, Many thanks for your review. We have rooms on our upper floors where we upgrade guests to but on this occasion due to availability we were unable to. In terms of noise we do stock ear plugs. I shall be passing your comments to the kitchen regarding the food not being hot and i shall pass on your comments to the Housekeeping Team. We hope to see you again. Kind regards Hotel Manager

Elevator broken all week

Posted Mar 8, 2017
Main elevator was not working, I bet it hasn't worked for a while now. The other elevator was old and with no lights!

Convenient for central London

Posted Mar 2, 2017
Pros: Convenience and parking
Cons: Not much for the price
Location: Close to museums, restaurants, shopping
Convenient for Heathrow Airport and routes to the South West, parking on meters close by, restaurants and coffee shop, and grocery stores within walking distance. Friendly atmosphere but room are tight by US standards

Dear Robin, Thank you very much for leaving your feedback. Regarding the size of bedrooms we do have alrger rooms and try to upgrade guests when possible, but the size of our regular rooms are considered "the norm" for London. We hope to see you again in the near future. Kind regards Hotel Manager

Good value and location

Posted Feb 6, 2017
Pros: Location.
Cons: Fix the lift and put a new blind in the shower room.
A hotel I happily recommend as good value for money. A first class location with underground station very close by. My room was small but perfectly adequate for a three night stay and the bed was very comfortable. The shower room appeared fairly newly refurbished with an excellent shower but was let down a little by a window blind that was falling apart. The breakfast room was superb as was the selection and quality of the food. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has two lifts but one was out of order and from the state of the notices attached to the doors had been so for some time. Enjoyed my stay there.

Dear Peter, Many thanks for leaving your kind comments. We do have larger rooms and upgrade guests if we have the availability but on this occasion we were unable to, but I'm happy to have read that your room was adequate for the duration of your stay. We shall take a look at the window blind you mentioned and hope to see you again. Kind regards Hotel Manager

Double bed was 2 single beds

Posted Feb 5, 2017
Very uncomfortable room because their idea of a double bed is to squash 2 single beds together. The view was of a metal panel literally thought I would get better for my money.

Dear Shaz, Many thanks for leaving your review. We do have rooms that over look the gardens behind the hotel and we try to upgrade guests when possible but we are unable to do this 100% of the time due to availability. We have took note of the bed situation and will try to source an alternative. Once again, thanks for leaving your review and we hope to see you again in the future. Kind regards Hotel Manager

The staff is great. The Hotel is another story!

Posted Jan 30, 2017
Pros: The room was really fresh and clean. The food was really good and the Staff was awesome!
Cons: They can Hire a more reliable Elevator maintenance staff or company!
Location: Located in the best area, South Kensington. Easy access to everywhere via the tube! Can walk to the Museums and Hyde park. Lots of Restaurants!
Both lifts were broken and we were on the 4th floor. Breakfast was in the basement and lobby on the ground floor.... that is 6 flights of stairs with luggage and no assistance. The Bed was just ok. The heater/air was so loud we could not have it on while we slept. The window was broken and we had a lot of road noise.

Dear Tena, Thank you for your feedback which certainly helps us to monitor and improve our services. I apologise for the shortfall in service issues you encountered during your visit. I have today shared your feedback with the team and they also join me in apologising for the service issues you experienced. With regards to our lifts we are waiting for a major part to be installed from the supplier and unfortunately our 2nd lift had broken down due to unforseen circumstances (which has now been fixed). With regards to luggage assistance we do offer assistance should a guest need it. Thank you once again for bringing this to my attention and I hope that we will have an opportunity to show you our true service standards. Hotel Manager.

Unacceptable and dangerous

Posted Jan 24, 2017
Pros: Not a lot in the end
Cons: Basic amenities
The shower door fell off on me when I was opening it - fully off the rails and i had to catch it. I would say it was about 10kg of glass. Window blind was on the floor so the apartments opposite looked in on me through the stay.
