Nice hotel and friendly staff

Posted Nov 29, 2016
Pros: Location and size of room
Cons: Bathroom
Location: London is such a big city so anywhere you stay is convenient as long as it is near a tube station. This hotel was about. Ten minute walk from Pimlico.
Spacious room, friendly staff, comfortable bed. Only negative would be the bathroom which was a little dated and not particularly clean.

Pros: Room and staff
Cons: Fix the room ( 1029) heating and better breakfast.
Room nice and clean and tidy, but heating not working, bloody freezing in the room.

Friendly, Clean, and Comfortable

Posted Nov 14, 2016
Location: The location was great, close to Big Ben/London Eye/Westminster etc,and close to shopping. Also close to both tube & bus transportation.
I stayed at the DoubleTree for two nights in November. I would definitely recommend it to someone who wants a nice-sized room and to be close to attractions. The hotel itself was nice, staff was friendly, check-in was quick and easy. The room size was good, for a European hotel, the bathroom is a bit small - but that is to be expected.

Great hotel in a very convenient location

Posted Nov 14, 2016
Location: Great access to the train and Underground. Short walk to Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and many other attractions.
Although I booked on Expedia, the hotel still recognized my Hilton Honor status and gave us free breakfast and access to the Executive Lounge, which was very nice.

Excellent hotel in a great location

Posted Nov 7, 2016
Pros: Location of the hotel and the staff were excellent.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Almost next door to the Tate Modern!
Excellent modern hotel offering really good service. Location is ideal for the Tate Modern and the amenities in the hotel are extremely good. Breakfast was excellent with choices for every taste.

Good hotel for business, not so much for leisure..

Posted Nov 3, 2016
Pros: Facilities were neat, clean, and very functional. They did a good job of utilizing the room's space.
Cons: Location mostly.
Location: Burberry central store; Parliament, Tate Britain, Westminster Abbey, Churchill Museum/Imperial War Rooms, Thames River.
This is a nice hotel facility, right on par with any other Doubletree one would stay at. There are some issues for leisure travelers though.... 1. When someone requests two single beds, they usually don't want two single beds right next to each other. 2. The hotel's location, while VERY central in London, isn't the best when it comes to transportation. It's between two Tube stops, and both are a hike to get to. As a result, you'll use taxis here a lot. 3. Our room didn't have a normal TV. It was an IMac, and not a very functional one at that. Having a computer in the room is a decent touch, but why not a flatscreen? The IMac's screen is small, and is tough to watch. Again, I get it from a business travel perspective, but for leisure....not so much.

Big rooms and bathrooms and great location

Posted Oct 31, 2016
Big comfortable rooms to spread out in. Great for sightseeing. Walking distance to many things and close transportation, especially busses. Breakfast buffet is excellent and the staff there is so friendly. Front desk staff also exceptional. You can skip the hotel restaurant, unless you like it for convenience. Service is rather weak and food just OK. Too many great pubs in London to go to for some excellent meals!
