The positive side is that it is in an excellent location, being a two minute walk from South Quay DLR station. Spacious apartment.
HOWEVER, it is badly in need of some TLC and in fact a total refurbishment. Cleanliness also left a lot to be desired. Bed sheets were clean (but either un-ironed or poorly ironed, not that that really mattered), towels were fairly new and so were the bath mats. The rest though .... difficult to tell to a certain extent as so much was cracked and bodged up (shower trays, tiles, etc). Kitchen looked fine at first glance but on closer inspection was not sufficiently cleaned. Dirty sponge left from previous occupants, dirty grill pan left in oven (congealed fat - looked as if it had been used several times and had not been washed - smelled awful). Drainer had stuff draining on it but looked as if it could do with a good clean. Crockery was sparse (not enough for four people). One bed creaked badly (needs tightening up) and one of the toilet seats was loose. Electrics need updating (lots of electrical tape to hold thing together) - we were also surprised to see a whole bank of electrical sockets under the sink - not sure if that meets current regs). There was no battery in the smoke alarm in the hall.
On the plus side, there are three kettles, two hair dryers, tea/coffee/milk sachets provided. No toaster though (hence our intention to use the grill pan - until we saw and smelled it!). We ate out!!
