Clean, pleasant staff, facilities as advertised, very good breakfast, ideally located on Tavistock square and near Russel Square, area felt safe. Minor comments, hot water for shower seems to come on at certain times, so something to be aware of. Level of isolation between rooms could be better. However, none of these were disruptive to my stay and would book again and a recommended hotel for a stay in London.

Friendly staff, received free room upgrade which was very much appreciated! Very comfortable bed and pillows, clean room. Lots of pubs and dining options etc nearby. Very close to Kings Cross St. Pancras International, tube and other tube stations.

Hotel is very handy for Kings Cross and Euston, and was clean and comfortable. But as an older property rooms were small and I was right behind reception desk by lift. Breakfast doesn’t start till 7:30 so as I was working and leaving early both days I missed out. Friendly staff.

Lovely place to stay. Close to our station easy to find. Lovely clean and comfortable. Friendly staff and breakfast was amazing . Staff very helpful and friendly. Will recommend to anyone .

Upgraded to larger beds :) clean and bright. Easy checkin. Typing in the card details makes me a little worried though. Breakfast smells nice but there are plenty of options so we didn’t dine here.

Overall it was a nice stay. The room was clean, beds were comfortable and a very good breakfast. The only downside was we stayed in the family room for five people that faces the park and Main Street, the window does not block out noise so you hear everything including people walking by talking, playing in the park or talking outside the pub on the corner until late at night and starts again early in the morning with whomever is walking by talking or people in the park. Maybe it’s just that room and we were unlucky as we did not stay in any other room.

Our confirmation email from the hotel did not contain the address of the George hotel or a daytime number. Arriving from a long haul holiday and finding no internet on my phone I could not contact the hotel or give a taxi the correct address. Staff were quite unconcerned about this and blamed expedia and certainly did not appear to be bothered about correcting their confirmation email. Another client was complaining about the same thing the day after.

My entire experience with this property was difficult and frustrating. I needed to change my payment information and neither Expedia nor the hotel would work with me. Their phone number, alternate number, and two emails did not work. Nobody got back to me with any meaningful solution. They tried to cancel my room and take the entire cost as a fee, and then told me that they would Allow me to stay and pay on property. That's all I wanted to do - was pay and make sure they got their money. Which I did without issue at the hotel. At the hotel: There were cosmetic issues: Parts of the gate outside were missing, the bannister was broken and put together with sticky tape. The room seemed clean, but there were stains on the curtain. The bathroom was gorgeous - but the window shade did not come all the way down, so people could see right in. There wasn't a door between the bathroom and room, so people in the building across the alley could see into my room. Also, despite there being a radiator in the room, it didn't put out any heat, even after I turned it on and set it. Finally, the door has a Yale lock on it, without a door knob or handle. It took me at least 1-2 minutes to be able to open the door every time. (Also the breakfast was overcooked and tasteless, but really on the list of issues that is so tiny that it's hardly worth acknowledging.)

Lovely, clean hotel, with an absolutely super American chap on Reception when we arrived. But the beds were uncomfortable and had such flat pillows. And the breakfast was virtually all cold and/or gone by 8.30-9.00-ish.

Convenient location close to underground, UCL, good restaurants, cafes, etc. Friendly staff. Wasn't crazy about schlepping my luggage up 60 stairs. Room was okay, rather small, shower wasn't well separated from rest of bathroom, which made for a very wet floor.

My go to for London business trips
As a small business owner I am cost conscious and time is precious. The George Hotel is in such a great location for public transport, restaurants and even shopping. The hotel staff are welcoming, friendly and resourceful. Everything has always run like clockwork for me. The rooms are clean, the breakfast is good value with GF options and dairy free options. I will return!

The staff were all very nice. I was offered an upgrade but the couldn't give it to me for the first 2 nights but upgraded me after that. First room was small but the upgrade was really nice.

Good value and great location
Excellent location and value for money - the room was clean and comfortable! The only thing I didn’t like is that they don’t provide “do not disturb” signs (I thought this meant they only make up the room during your stay on request - a lot of hotels do this now) but they just come into your room to make it up without you asking. I’m sure some guests think of it as a ‘luxury’, but it feels like an invasion of privacy to me. Also not eco-friendly to change the towel after just one use.

Good hotel near King's Cross/St-Pancras
Staff was polite. Arrived early (before check-in time) but was checked-in right away. Clean room and hotel in general. Did not take breakfast there so I cannot comment. Very good location if you arrive/need access to trains and Underground as it a 10 minute walk to King's Cross/St-Pancras.

The shower didn’t work well. The water shut off several times each morning. Upon check in the desk attendant was very confused. We had two reservations. And I told him that. Gave him both the names. But he was adamant that we had only booked one room. It got sorted out. And he found the other reservation. But it was late and I wasn’t happy about the confusion right at the beginning of our stay.

A delightful stay
Overall, a delightful stay, in which the hotel's friendly and helpful staff did their utmost to help their guests enjoy their stay. Close to mainline transport and set in a pleasant and safe area, a couple of streets back from main roads. However, the windows and frames of the property required some maintenance, as they were very worn and damaged. Good value for money and would be happy to return.

London break
Stayed for 2 nights. Room was clean with a small bathroom with noisy fan which ran forever. Towels where clean but had seen better days. Breakfast was very nice, hot and was well stocked as it is self service.

Very nice!!! Right near the train station! Even upgraded our room! The only thing that didn’t make it 5 stars was that the walls were really thin so you could hear everything and it would get really hot/cold and you can’t control it. Worth the price!!!
