A very clean hotel. The staff is very helpful, polite and patient. The location is excellent. The price is excellent relatively to other hotels in the area, perfect if you're not looking for a hotel with facilies but rather be outside most of the day touring the city and just returning to get some sleep. The only downside is that there's no AC in the room. Other than that it's a great hotel.

Excellent location in Bloomsbury. Lovely walk thro

Pros: The bedroom windows opened. The room had an alcove kitchen - great facility.
Cons: Breakfast is ridiculously expensive at £23.
Location: Only a few stops from Covent Garden and Liescester Square. Just round the corner from The British Museum and Charles Dickens' house.
I stayed for a week and had no concerns. It's not fancy nor stuffy. Very nice staff.

Excellent hotel

Great location, very comfortable room. Lovely staff but english hotels need to train their staff to be confident and resourceful. The answer to most guest requests should be, 'of course, no problem'. Not 'um, oh, maybe.... But, let me see.....' It's so irritating and unnecessary, particularly from staff who are trying very hard and are otherwise good.

Within walking distance to museums, theaters and many small cafes. Close to underground and on a bus line.

Perfectly located and quiet.

Pros: Friendliness of staff.
Cons: Breakfast included in price.
Location: British Museum, good restaurants, and walking distance to London sights.
A wonderful area to walk in and to walk in Russell and Bedford Squares near-by. Able to visit British Museum a block away. The Bloomsbury circle of artists and writers inspired stay here.

Great Location

Posted Jul 12, 2015
Pros: location
Cons: Room was a little stuffy, it was warm and on the first floor. Staff was a little aloof, but perhaps it is the British culture...
Location: British Museum is two blocks away, cafes and underground nearby.
Hotel was really close to the British Museum and to transportation. It was also very conveniently located for grabbing breakfast on our way to the underground.

Was once a favourite

Pros: Can't be beat for its convenience to Russel Square tube station and the British Museum. The kitchenette facility is appealing for simple meal prep.
Cons: Upgrade windows to triple glaze. Replace draperies and carpet. Repair noisy plumbing in room 1.
This well located hotel in Bloomsbury has sadly become shabby and a bit grubby. At our most recent stay we found it to be very noisy at night due to vehicle traffic and those revelers cruising the streets into the wee hours. Won't be staying here again.

Adorable little place in a great location.

Pros: location, classic look, courtyard outside my window.
Cons: Bigger rooms? A shower you don't have to climb up into? Neither are a real issue.
Location: It's 100 yards from the British Museum. Walking distance to Covent Gardens area, Leicester, 7 Dials, Soho, and more. Tube station very close.
Clean, cute, and close to.... I'd stay here again for sure. Friendly staff always responded well. Window overlooking the courtyard stayed open all week. It was wonderful and quite.

Convenient but quiet location

Posted Sep 9, 2014
The hotel is part of many small (Grange) hotels in the buildings next to the British Museum. The location is great; the street is quiet but still close to the attractions (particularly the British Museum) as well as the Piccadilly and Central Underground lines. The room was comfortable, spacious and had a small kitchenette with a refrigerator. The hotel stuff was courteous and helpful. Some negatives: The pillows were hard and of low quality. The faucet in the bathroom was difficult to figure out; usually, hot water came even if the faucet was turned to cold, but after waiting 30 to 60 seconds it started to become tolerably warm. We kept water in the refrigerator for drinking.
