Lovely Hotel, great location, very convenient.

Posted Jan 22, 2017
Pros: The location and the staff. The room was also very nice and comfortable. Liked the period style of decoration. The are was very safe to walk at night,
Cons: Can't think of a thing.
Location: The theater was in walking distance, good places for breakfast, gelato and fish and chips.
The staff was so friendly and helpful with directions and getting local drivers to pick us up at very early morning times. Guiding us to good restaurants in walking distance . The hotel was very clean, rooms done up well every day.

Old World charm in bustling entertainment district

Posted Dec 31, 2016
Pros: The atmosphere was not like the standard chain. It has character.
Cons: Brighter lighting.
Location: The hotel is in the theatre district, and is 2 blocks from Chinatown. It has 2 Underground stations within 3 minutes that can take you anywhere.
I wanted to stay in a period hotel, and I was not disappointed in the facility. Sure, the floors are as wavy as the sea, but the essential needs are well provided for, including a lush mattress, a minibar fridge and a courteous staff. Lovely furnishings, although my room was quite dark and did not have a "view." Public rooms are charming, and are calm despite the very active street life of Soho and Chinatown. Convenient to 2 tube stations and Oxford Street.

an 1786 boutique hotel in a great location:SOHO

Posted Dec 31, 2016
Pros: i specifically wanted the SOHO district and that is the only feature that i would recommend and nothing else. a total failure and disappointment.
Cons: provide rooms that look like the pictures in the advertisement the hotel misled and misrepresented the quality of the rooms and bathrooms absolutely
Location: Location is exception and tons of sights to visit close to all the other beautiful venues and theaters and food venues
Misrepresentation and misleading of the advertisement of the quality of service and of the quality of the amenities*internet connection and wi-fi was absolutely an abomination; the hotel advertised Free wired high-speed Internet the connection was continually disconnecting*no replenishment of toiletries none whatsoever* no baggage stand * the room was incredibly small * practically no closet space; the pictures on the hotel site did not by any stretch of the imagination represent the rooms that were offered to me;the hand soap was not replaced once during the five night stay* no hand towels for the last two days* no elevators: absolutely stunned; luggage was difficult carry up and down the stairs as the stairs and the entire building was on an incline; the first room offered was in the basement of the building!* the first ever in my entire adult travelling experience being offered a room in the basement; after complaining about no reception on the phone and unable to reach out to Family in particular an elderly Mother, the replacement room offered was on the third floor accessible only by stairs: there was a definite musty and overbearing smell throughout the hotel. a cat was freely roaming the premises; cat hair all over the room; a totally and absolute disappointment. no attempt on the part of management to offer compensation of any kind. Not even for character and or location does this hotel merit it current star rating. I will never recommend it

A wonderful place. Great staff, great location, not for people who like conventional, bland, corporate operations.

Friendly, convenient and abit different in style!

Posted Dec 12, 2016 on Hotels
Overall very nice stay, staff are friendly and helpful. Room was nice, requires a slight freshen up i think though and the bath tap leaks which you can hear from bedroom. The location is great, close proximity to the palace theatre, and tube stations walking distance also. There is abit of street noise as there is a bar across the road but this wasn't an issue for us, wasn't too loud. Not sure what it would be like on a weekend though.
