Overnight stay at Gatwick

Pros: Proximity to the airport and helpful staff.
Cons: Update the rooms and improve the maintenance regime. Think about perhaps putting a couple of complimentary bottles of water in the room.
Location: Didn't explore the area, used the hotel purely as a transit stopover.
Unfortunately like many big brand airport hotels, the Hilton Gatwick relies upon its name and position. The reality is that many of the rooms are tired and in need of renovation. We had booked a delxe room and were a little disappointed to find a pretty poor lounge chair with unidentifiable stains and a bathroom with a badly stained shower/bath tub and a broken extractor fan. Apart from the fan being an inconvenience by leaving the bathroom like a sauna after a shower it made it impossible to use the mirror.

The noise from the vents

The noise from the vents were so loud we got very little sleep. The room was clean and comfortable but the constant noise was ridiculously bad.

Gatwick airport hotel

Pros: Hotel is fine , clean and comfortable
Location: NA
Stayed at the Hilton on Christmas Eve , as we have stayed previously on Christmas Eve . We were dissapointed their didn't seem to be any Christmas spirit ! previously had been little treats on reception . Not as good as previous stays.

Most convenient hotel for Gatwick transfers .

Pros: Nearness to terminal and covered walkway.
Cons: Supply of tea in bedrooms. Only English breakfast and peppermint (which is not a tea) provided. My wife was told she would have to pay for a green tea

Staff pleasant and helpful. Food/drink grossly overpriced. But at least the dining room is open for long hours. and the food is OK It is getting tired looking.

Great value

This is the fourth time we have stayed here in a triple room (2 x doubles) for one night before a flight from either south or north terminal. Rooms are always spotless and comfortable with tea and coffee facilities. Check in is usually fast and check out involves putting your card key in a box by the reception. Breakfast is buffet style and is excellent.

Quality hotel, easy for airport, calming experienc

Pros: Convienient for airport, calming surroundings, good restaurant, excellent staff.
Cons: Very little
Location: For us the location to the airport was important.
We chose to stay at Gatwick Hilton for the close proximity to the airport, and that we have stayed before and always had a pleasant experience. We arrived at the hotel tired and stressed following a long drive and traffic congestion. We were met by a very long que at reception and our hearts sank, this would take some time. Within a minute a porter approached us and ask were we with the delayed flight or were we checking in. He moved us to the front of the que where a desk was opened. We were delt with by a gentleman with a big smile called Manfred. We were checked in quickly and efficiently and I remember thinking "this was a good choice". We ate that night in Amy's and the food and service was excellent. Your staff were pleasant and courteous and we enjoyed their humour particularly Sethi. This was a very pleasant, calming stay.

Pros: Easy access to airport and transport system.
Location: All transport is available to reach all of London.
It was great; no need to get a taxi just take a short walk with little exposure to the cold. Breakfast was great with many choices and free internet was excellent.

Only Advantage, close to Gatwick

Pros: Proximity to Gatwick
Cons: Everything else 1. Heating 2, Fan, 3. Mini bar need filling, 4. Telephone should be by the bed 5. USB ports shold be supplied including by the bed !
Location: Awful location surrounded by a car park and airport, but thats also an advantage
I arrived from Portugal Gatwick and had an early morning flight to Toronto the following day so I stayed here. On arrival it was -7C Although there was no one checking in and i had a reservation it took the receptionist some time to find my reservation. I was then allocated a room as far away as possible from the elevator. It was a huge room with two double beds and a Queen Sized bed and i was alone! I was exhausted after my flight and just wanted to shower and get a drink form the mini bar and a snack before turning in. However the room was so cold it was impossible to shower, when I turned up the thermostat it sounded like a propeller engined plane and no heat came out. I skipped the shower! I went to the mini bar and found that was empty so I tried to sleep, but thenoise form the vent was so loud i had a very bad rest. All in all this was an awful experience. I conplained in the norjing and the lady said she would like to make it right but there was no way of making a sleepless night in a freezing room right and i was leaving on a trans Atlantic flight. Sorry HIlton, never agian!
