Pet friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was very good. Bit noisy next to north circular but that is not the hotels fault. Very comfortable bed and spacious rooms

This hotel is vile, vastly over priced, unfriendly and well past its sell by date. The room was in poor repair and the double glazing disnt keep out the cold or the noise of the supermarket parking lot the hotel is located in.The best thing about the place was the view which was of the afore mentioned parking lot. To have to pay to park on top of the outrageous price was insult to injury If 0 stars were an option i would chose it.

the toilet seat was broken. The shower was dripping. There was no plug in the sink. in fact it was uncomfortable that I did not sleep there on the second night.

Needs some refurbishing
Asked for sofa bed to be made up ,did it ourselves some bits and a fair amount of hair when we pulled the bed out,stains all over the carpet,shower pressure and temperature really good,but in bathroom lots fixtures need repairing,maybe a good deep clean.Bar area ok ,breakfast was warm but fine.All in all very expensive stay ,won't be staying here again.Needs a refurbish.

Disappointing. Lights not working, broken doors and shower. Can't even get ice at the bar. Overall shabby. I didn't expect much for an express inn, but even then was disappointed.

Unfortunately we didn’t enjoy our stay at all. Took my husband here to stay for his 40th birthday. Reception staff looked like they didn’t want to be there. Room was very dirty when we folded up the sofa bed with dust and rubbish on the floor! Air con was leaking and there was even a towel on the floor when we got in there to soak the wet up, every time we got out of bed we got wet feet! We checked out a night early as it was just terrible, I just wanted to cry and felt awful for my poor husband!

The staff were amazing. However, the room we were allocated was in need of a significant refurbishment. The carpet had come away from the floor and had some sort of red stain on it. The air-conditioning did not work. This would have been helpful as we were in London on the hottest day this September. Our windows did not shut. And finally the bathroom could do with re-grouting due the mould. We did mention this to the staff on the reception desk and they were very apologetic.

This has been one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at. The air conditioning is broken and the shower leaks. We arrived at the hotel and raised the issue with the temperature in the rooms as it was too hot. Tried to call reception and nobody answered. I was told by the front desk that someone would be up in 20 minutes to fix it. My wife waited in the room for 2 hours and nobody came. Instead of air con we were offered a dusty desk fan that was extremely loud and the fan blades barely spun, so it couldn't be used. We had to sleep with the window open, which meant that the room was filled with traffic noise. We managed about 3 hours sleep through the night. I spoke to the front desk on Sunday morning and was told that an engineer would come on Monday. The maintenance guy appeared briefly on Monday and tried the on/ off switch a couple of times. He told me it was broken and needed replacing. We never heard anything again. I asked to complain about the room conditions and leaky shower. I was told that the hotel doesn't take complaints and i was told to complain through expedia. No help was offered other than writing my room number on a post it note, as we were told most rooms were having air con issues. Terrible hotel and extremely unhelpful staff. I'm incredibly angry at the promised facilities and what we've instead received. It says something thar when you check out, they dont ask how your stay was.

We paid £167 to stay on a Friday night in August. The staff were lovely & customer service was great, we could check in early & we got free late check. Unfortunately our room hadn’t been cleaned when we got there, but the receptionist has checked whilst we were there & was told it was so that wasn’t her fault. She was very apologetic & offered to get it cleaned straight away. We were heading out for the day so it didn’t matter but the situation was dealt with well. You have to pay for parking but it’s £7 for 24 hours which was less than we expected. You can only pay for 24 hours at a time rather than adding on a few hours if you need more time, which we found out when it was too late so ended up paying £14. There’s a Sainsburys next door if required & good bus links. Unfortunately the hotel is tired & well overdue a renovation. The main areas are ok, but the rooms need a makeover. The furniture & carpet is worn & one of the plug sockets looked like an appliance had caught fire at some point. It was cleaned as well as it could be, but when things get worn out dirt gets a bit ingrained. The was also a slightly unpleasant smell. It smelt like it was formally a smoking room & it was ingrained. The shower was good & the room was a decent size. We didn’t hear noise from other guests. Breakfast included, basic but decent. Only till 10am though, early for a weekend. Overall, it did the job but wouldn’t stay again unless it gets renovated.

For over £100 per night this hotel needs to really improve. At the price above we should not have to pay another £7 per night for parking; that is absolutely ridiculous. Reception was talking to another guest whilst checking me into my room and barely paying attention to what he was doing. The room was large but barely has any facilities, we normally stay at The Commongate but they had no rooms that night - they are cheaper, nicer and have everything needed in the rooms. Would definitely avoid in future.

Not a bad stay but room was a little tired.
Nice hotel. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Room was facing main road so was a little noisy with traffic in the morning. Was alos in need of a little TLC, carpet was stained and faded and decor could have done with sprucing up a bit. Not much choice on the food menu but this isn't unusual for a HIEX.
