Rooms extremely small

Posted May 16, 2017
The hotel and staff were fine, but room size very European, almost claustrophobic, but ok for an overnight for next day flight

The Staff are great very helpful, finding bus timetables etc, dining room staff are also good, with quick service and with a smile. The nice cleaning ladies gave extra bubble bath foam, a welcome soak after a long flight from New Zealand. I try and always stay here also the first stop on the National bus from Heathrow only five pounds.

Cons: See above. Obviously the plumbing needs some serious maintenance. The toilet was also a problem, in terms of inability to flush.
The room was fairly well set up, for a hotel in the UK. The bathroom was the main issue. In order to turn off the shower it was necessary to go down to the front desk to get someone to look for the manager who was the one person who knew how to turn it off.

Hello, Thank you for your feedback. I apologise about the toilet in your room. I have since been in contact with our maintenance team which are checking out the plumbing system, as you are probably aware this is an old hotel, sometimes things don't run as smoothly, however you will be pleased to hear we are currently undergoing plans for refurbishment in the near future. As for our staff I wasn't aware they didn't know the basic maintenance of the hotel. Thank you for bringing that to my attention, I can now start some training days with them. Thank you again and we look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel.

Good position

Posted May 9, 2017
This is handy to the airport and the bus stops for the free red bus (105, 111 &140) to and from the airport are just outside, so very convenient when arriving with luggage. No need to pay for transport. One of the main reasons I stay in this hotel. Some of the hotel looks a little dated, but that is not a major complaint. The hotel has been here many years. The staff were friendly and the room size and furnishings okay. The only complaints I had were that the bathroom door would be better opening the other way against the bath, so it wasn't in the way of the hand basin (small complaint), but a bigger complaint is that I was cold. A spare blanket in the cupboard would have been nice, or a thicker duvet/doona. I turned on the heating, which could have been avoided with a thicker duvet or extra blanket, but I could never get it above 20C (I have a thermometer), despite it being set to 23C. I was only just warm then in bed with the thin covering. Also hair conditioner please too. Despite my comments I will stay here again, as positives outweigh negatives :)

Good hotel near heathrow.

Shuttle will cost 5 pounds each way, but once there, the hotel is good. Easy check in, good rooms. The restaurant had delicious food, which we had not expected.

Drop in standard

Posted May 1, 2017
I used to make this my first choice at heathrow but am now asking why. It Hotel has just got more and more expensive and offers less everytime I stay. Maybe it was just because it was a busy weekend but I have stayed here 30 times at least and am now considering others. The internet used to be good here, now you have to pay and extra £9.95 a day for decent internet. The free one is no good for anything other than social media. Breakfast was always great but even there the standard has dropped. My biggest concern is that prices have gone up so much or the deals I used to get on Expedia are no longer there. You pay a lot of money for basically a room that is a toilet with a bed, I stay alone so it is not so bad and I always stay in there best rooms. I hate to think what the cheaper rooms are like size wise. Really expensive for what you get now. It is no longer value for money

Convienient but very tired

Posted Apr 29, 2017
We needed an overnight stop between two flights and based on the Holiday Inn brand thought this would be ok. The location was fine only a short ride from the airport on a shuttle bus but the room and facilities left a lot to be desired. The room was so small we had not even enough room to put our suitcases down on the floor to open them. The shower fitting was old and stiff such that my wife couldn't turn it off. Staff though were great

Convenient to Heathrow Terminal 2 and 3

Posted Apr 21, 2017
This hotel is convenient to Heathrow terminals 2 and 3, not 4. There is a hotel shuttle bus, but you can take the city bus for free. I took 111, but I know there are others. The hotel is a bit run down, but the staff was great. For most, like me, this is only a one night stopover before heading to the airport, so the condition of the hotel is not a big deal. Good value for the convenience.
