Friendly but awkward

Posted May 2, 2017
Pros: The receptionist was very friendly and eager to help.
Cons: I would have liked a firmer mattress, a less lumpy pillow, and a quieter room.
Location: Busy road, so many frequent buses go to Trafalgar Square or Waterloo Station. The Piccadilly Line is two minutes' walk from the hotel.
The hotel was NOT close to King's Cross, so perhaps the ad could suggest taking the Piccadilly Line from KC and exiting at Caledonian Road (which has a lift). The hotel itself is an old building which does not have a lift, so the wifi was sketchy on the second floor, and, no fault of the hotel's, it is surrounded by construction. My room was clean, but the bed was lumpy and the traffic noise went on well into the night. But the breakfast was just fine!

Cute little hotel

Posted Apr 3, 2017
The lady on the reception desk was the friendliest person on the planet! So warm and welcoming and had the best sense of humour ever. The room was spacious and very clean and smelt really nice too! Beds were comfy and bathroom was clean too. Would definitely stay again.

Nice location Hotel

Posted Mar 22, 2017
This hotel is near to Picadilly Underground line and a bus stop. This hotel is very old, the room is very clean, the staff very nice, but the comfort is not good and the breakfast variety neither.

Run down, smelly and loud.

Posted Feb 5, 2017 on Hotels
Smelly Pipes in a mouldy bathroom. Wonky floors, ripped, old carpets and no lift. The place is a total dump. Surrounded by loud street, traffic jams in rush hour piling up, building sites on 3 sides of the hotel (!!) with demolitions going on. Basically a total nightmare. Staff at reception was notably friendly but obviously unable to fix the hotel - it is what it is.

In real need of maintenance/renovation

Posted Dec 20, 2016
Pros: Convenient location, 24h reception, price.
Cons: Carpets, furniture, bathroom tiles, plumbing, sound insulation.
The hotel is in a convenient location and has a 24h reception (with polite staff). The room was quite clean but in need of maintenance. The window didn't provide much sound insulation so the noise from the street could be well heard all night long. All furniture, shelves and decorations were still mostly functional but in noticeably degrading condition. The bathroom was generally clean but mould was embedded everywhere around the shower and tiles. The shower head was slightly broken and sprayed water in all directions, the towel had red marks on it and there were screws missing from the bathroom shelving, making it unstable. The rest of the hotel was in grave need for maintenance with the carpets and walls in a horrible state, torn and badly stained. Overall, not horrible value for money for London standards but the hotel could be hugely improved with some work.

Good rooms in an old hotel

Posted Dec 16, 2016 on Hotels
Stayed for one night after a late night in the area - the room did the job. Comfortable bed so slept really well. The room had all the essentials. This is fine for anyone looking for a convenient place in the area. Not much else to write about - the reception is tiny and there are lots of stairs but that did not bother me.

Cheap & Cheerful

Posted Oct 31, 2016
Pros: Staff were lovely, extremely friendly. Beds were really comfortable and the room was clean and tidy.
Cons: Decor is dated and carpets in main reception & stairwells are very stained and could definitely be doing with being changed.
Location: We needed something close to Emirates Stadium for an event and this was within walking distance, perfect for one night stay.

Poor choice

Posted Oct 25, 2016 on Hotels
Hotel is in poor condition, tv didn't work properly as ariel cable had no connector on the end to plug into socket.windows would not shut completely as frames buckled. plug sockets loose and broken.Buildings on 3 sides are currently being demolished so very noisy from early morning. Did complain to reception but nothing was done about tv or windows during my stay.
