Fabulous location, friendly, good valuePosted Sep 24, 2015
Pros: Location, staff, breakfast
Cons: It is an old home and there is wear. Some rooms don't have toilets. Noisy dining room for rooms on that floor.
Location: Regent's Park, Sherlock Holmes Museum
We were happy to stay here for one night, but it would have been difficult to stay longer. The room we had offered two single beds, which we were looking for. But, we noticed just a few days before our stay the "shower only" notice for the room. We ended up staying in the room and it was fine--the shower was in the corner, with a door. Interestingly, there was a sink inside the shower stall, which was nice to have in the room but really cut down on the space for standing to shower. I am a petite 115 lb woman and I kept bumping into it! There was a bathroom just down the hall that was fine and my friend and I lived through getting up in the middle of the night to make the voyage. A downside was the dining room is adjacent to this particular bedroom and the walls are not soundproof. It was no problem for us, since we are early risers and it was a quick trip to breakfast, which was lovely. I should note how quiet it was during the night and we both got a great night's sleep. I can't tell you how fantastic the owner of the hotel is--he was so accommodating, friendly, and helpful when we were considering other options for rooms with a toilet. All in all, a great value. The facility is a little dowdy, but kind of like visiting relatives who have an old house. Added to the experience and literally, one block from the Kings Cross station. Could not have been more convenient and safe.

Good locationPosted Sep 12, 2015
Good location, very clean, comfy bed, nice breakfast. Think it may possibly be very hot in the room in high summer but ok Sept.

Clean and close to St PancrasPosted Sep 8, 2015
Pros: Helpful staff.
Cons: Lift/elevator installation.
Location: Close to St Pancras & King's Cross stations.
The Jesmond Dene is very well-located, close to King's Cross and above all to the Eurostar terminal at St Pancras, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. On the downside, there are no lifts (I am disabled), but we were offered an alternative room in the basement, with only one flight of stairs to descend rather than three stories to climb, and in addition, without even having to ask, the services of a member of staff to carry our luggage down. The bed linen was pleasingly crisp and clean, the shower hot and powerful, and there were sufficient plugs to charge our phones and other devices. All in all a good choice for anyone needing an early morning start or a late bed for the night on arrival from the Continent, and at a rate that wasn't too extortionate.

Convenient for railway stationsPosted Sep 2, 2015
Although convenient for the railway stations, with friendly staff, and relatively clean, this is a tired, out of date hotel. Standard room with shower meant a small basement room down a steep turning staircase, with hard, very narrow twin beds and hard pillows. A small shower cubicle in the corner of the room, with a basin in the shower cubicle. Toilet was down the corridor. Certainly not 3 star standard. Like chalk and cheese when compared to the 3 star hotel we stayed at the following night at almost half the price.

Ok but no morePosted Jul 23, 2015
Room on 2nd floor, bathroom / toilet on ground floor or 4th floor. Didn't fancy having to up or down 2 floors in the middle of the night if I needed to go to the bathroom so had to pay an extra £50 for one in the room. Nice staff but hotel is tired. Good breakfast.

Great Stay in Great Britain!Posted Jul 5, 2015
My husband and I were so pleased with our recent stay at Hotel Jesmond. The hotel is a half a block from two train stations, but still in a charming neighborhood. The hotel was full of character, which made us feel like we were absorbing a bit of London history as opposed to staying in a chain hotel. The room was clean with excellent water pressure and crisp white bed linens. The hot breakfast was made to order. The best part of our stay, however, was the customer service. All the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, especially Darren. He advised us on transportation and dining and went out of his way to help us when we were stranded from a strike. We will definitely stay here the next time we are in London.
