Disappointed After a Nice Stay the Year Before

We booked this hotel for a second year, because we were so pleased with it the first time. The location is great! Easy tube ride from Heathrow and easy connection to all the sights. Plus, the breakfast is excellent, and not many Expedia offered hotels include breakfast. Staff was very nice. However, we did have one incident... where we were told by the desk manager that because of our status with Expedia they were going to deliver a bottle of wine and fruit basket to our room and even asked did we want red or white wine. Well after a day, no basket...we asked and no one knew what we were talking about. The room was very small. The water in the tube/shower went from hot to cold on its own...probably a danger to cause scalding if you didn't pay attention. We were on the top floor...the room was very hot, the room heating/cooling system did do nothing but blow ambient air. We opened the windows to cool the room, but loud revelers at midnight, 2 am, and 4 am in the street interrupted sleep many nights. Do hotel operators give Expedia customers the "hard to fill" undesirable rooms? This is too bad, as we go to London every year for a week in December, and we would love to have the K&K George as our "go to hotel",
