Such a shame.

Pros: The location was good but very noisy. No information given on website re the Indian restraunt downstairs or the bar on either side that plays loud music until the early hours.
Cons: The carpet was stained and filthy. The fruit left as a complimentary continental breakfast was rotten
Location: Very busy area with lots of bars and bistros. The bus terminus straight outside with buses entering and leaving constantly.

Potential for a lovely hotel but needs a cleaning

Posted Sep 21, 2016 on Hotels
I don't like leaving negative reviews of independent hotels but a very small amount of effort would have vastly improved my stay. I write this in the hope the hotel read it. On walking in, there was a definite fecal smell (potenitally just a smelly previous guest?). But the worst aspect was the bed sheet that covers the actual bed. Not the sheet you sleep on (that was perfectly clean), but just a sheet used to cover the physical bed. It doesn't even need to be there but it was disgusting. There were brown stains all over it (maybe the source of the smell), hairs and dried out wet marks where something has been previously spilt on it. This seemed to attract spiders as 3 crawled up onto the bed while i was in it (I'm not a fan of spiders!). The carpet was also badly stained so didn't feel comfortable walking barefoot. On the positives.. I didn't pay for breakfast (not an available option), but a fruit bowl, bottled water and Brioche buns were left on the desk to have as a quick breakfast. A very good idea. The bathroom was also as clean as you would expect from a hotel. The rooms were a good size, the hotel is in a good location and the chap on reception was friendly and helpful. Big potential but just needs to be kept clean.

Convenient for local visits and travel to London

Posted Aug 13, 2016
Relatively low cost lodging with friendly staff and clean rooms with Wi-Fi. Bed a bit hard for me. Light breakfast available in room but low cost full breakfast nearby convenient to train station with 30 minutes to central London

Need full refurbeshment

Posted Jul 27, 2016 on Hotels
The location is good but finding the hotel was a bit tricky as it was in the back of a restaurant and driving looking for it was difficult to spot the sign, in addition the room design / layout need revisiting for example, the bed is in the wrong place blocking the wardrobe and the chest of draws, leaving 6 inches gap to walk while bending down to avoid the TV on the wall hung too low see photos, Furniture's falling apart example loose cabinet cover which house water storage container, all towels hooks and toilet role holders are broken see photos

Inexpesive hotel run with a skeleton staff. I never found out where breakfast was . The room was nicely set out and there is a fab restaurant called the Goujon underneat. Macys is right on the edge of the country which makes it a nice location
