Hotel in good location but with issues

Posted Sep 13, 2015
Hotel location good but rooms are not great. Checked in to a standard room and it was such little space. The bed alone took up the majority of space. Hardly enough space to walk around in the room. The bathroom mirror was so foggy, I could barely see myself. There were cup stains on the wooden bedside tables. The temperature panels only produced heat, no cool air. There wasn't even a clock in the room. I ended up paying $172.00 more for a bigger room which wasn't that much better. The shower door only covered half of the shower so water was spilling out on the floor. The tub itself was so high up that you had to climb in the bathtub instead of stepping in. The TV channels were crap. Not the most comfortable experience for me but if you plan to spend your entire time on the street sight seeing then you may not be bothered by the issues I have mentioned. Good luck.

Close to the West End

Posted Sep 9, 2015
Pros: See location box.
Cons: We felt that the buffet breakfast, whilst good, was a little expensive.
Location: We were visiting for a West End theatre outing followed by a meal in Soho. The hotel was close to both plus there was a tube station across the road.
Overall good experience. Staff very helpful and friendly. The rooms were a good with plenty of space to move around.

Zentral und ruhig gelegen

Posted Sep 5, 2015

Well Located, Friendly Hotel

Posted Aug 31, 2015
Pros: It is a large hotel, comfortably furnished with good service. It is extremely well located and has 3 tube stations within easy walk.
Cons: I think a ramp from the street into reception would be a good idea for those who cannot easily carry their cases. There is a lift, but a simple ramp w
Location: Super location for Regents Park, Tussards, Shopping in Oxford St, charming Marylebone High Street. A simple hop to Theatreland and Covent Garden.
My Partner and I stayed at the Melia White House for two nights in late August for a romantic City break. We wanted something well located but a little special and this was exactly what we got. From the outset, the doorman and the reception staff were charming and helpful. Well done to Davide on reception for giving us such a warm and professional welcome.

great location! close to regents park, warren st.

Posted Aug 25, 2015
Pros: location, cleanliness
Cons: cost of the buffet breakfast
Location: very central, very close to tube station - 3min walk,
great location! close to regents park, great portland st, and warren st. hotel well decorated and clean. Our classic room was small but comfy, and in good order. bed very comfy - a good firm mattress! room has minibar, air con, etc staff friendly and helpful. taxi rank also just outside the hotel. breakfast was not included in our price and at £25pp buffet, we chose to take breakfast elsewhere. however the room and location were good, so we would stay here again!

Nice hotel. Close to Oxford Street

Posted Aug 20, 2015
Pros: Proximity to Oxford Street; and good food.
Cons: Communication, between staff and clients; and also within the staff
Location: See above
I have stayed in the hotel on-and-off for over 10 years, average once a year, staying between 7 and 12 nights each visit. The Melia is a pleasant hotel, but I got the feeling the standard has fallen a bit. The staff in the Reception and restaurant especially looked and acted hassled. There was incredible communication gap between the main desk staff and the restaurant staff. And the concierge staff gave conflicting advise/information regarding airline reconfirmation. The breakfast was sumptuous as usual, but the bubbly was missing! I left with the impression that the hotel could do with some more integration within its work-force

Good location but that's about it

Posted Aug 12, 2015
Ordered room service which didn't arrive for over an hour after calling again twice. When it arrived the food was terrible the chicken was like rubber. The room service guy disappeared with my credit card and I had to call reception to get it back. When I thought it couldn't get any worse I got in bed to find the bed was unbelievably short so my feet were dangling off the end. Couldn't wait to get out. The grand melia I stayed in tenerife was amazing but melia really let me down with this stay in London.
