Great location next to Paddington Station

Posted Jan 30, 2017
Pros: Great location, good room facilities
Cons: Asking the cleaning staff to not be so noisy!
Good value hotel right next to Paddington Station. I had an executive room which was a good size and had a complimentary coffee machine, bottled water and good tea/coffee facilities. I couldn't get the TV or Radio to work unfortunately. The bathroom was very small, however had a decent shower, nice toiletries provided and good hairdryer. Despite triple glazing I could hear the trains very loudly, which started early in the morning. However I believe what woke me up was that my room (106) was right next to the cleaning staff's room and they were constantly banging around and talking loudly from 7am in the morning - this woke me up and also stopped me from getting back to sleep. The breakfast, in Garfunkels, was fine - small portions but nicely cooked. I would stay here again due to proximity to Paddington however avoid a room near the cleaning staff facilities!

Mercure Hotel

Posted Dec 14, 2016
Pros: Location and cleanleness of the rooms.
Cons: I have nothing to say that would have made our stay at the hotel better. For us, it was a great place to stay.
Location: The hotel is just steps from the Paddington tube and train station. Lots of restaurants and pubs close to the hotel. Safe area.
Our room had recently been upgraded and was very pleasant but very small. The bathroom was very small too, but had been upgraded. The room was very clean, the bed was very good and the bathroom was cleaned and spotless everyday. The location next to Paddington Station and tube station more than made up for the small sized room. There are lots of restaurants and shopping on the street and the area felt very safe even at night. I would recommend this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. We would definately stay at this hotel again.

Very convenient location

Posted Dec 4, 2016 on Wotif
Pros: Only two minutes walk to Paddington station. Excellent staff. Although situated in an extremely busy area, the rooms are sound proof.
Location: Very easy to travel to any part of London. Ideally located if arriving and departing by the Heathrow express.
Attentive and friendly staff. Value for money. Took the Heathrow express and arrived earlier than the prescribed check-in time but the friendly staff said that's no problem as a room was available.

Close, small, but worth the money for me

Posted Nov 28, 2016 on Hotels
Understand what you are getting here... this hotel is the ABSOLUTE closest to the Paddington Station (Train and Underground) besides the Hilton that is literally ON TOP of the station. It is a two minute walk, so even with heavy luggage, it is only a minute longer than the taxi station. Small, (some very small) but very nicely appointed rooms, and a staff that is greatly helpful. Probably not the best for a multi-day stay, but for a day or two, it is a friendly and serviceable Paddington base. Stayed here three times ... likely will again.
