Dear Guest. We welcome people from all over the world, and lots of international companies return to us frequently. Regarding your review , We had an EPC check and no insects were found and we have not had a complaint concerning water noise before. We are sorry you found one of our receptionists rude she is very popular with a great many of our guests, so we are mystified. However it seems you were obviously not happy with you 1 night stay. Property was not what I expected and the room was very small and needed repainting etc. It’s a pub with rooms on top and I was expecting a 4* establishment. For the price, it was disappointing. Staff and the bar were great. Location is pretty good with a tube station round the corner.

The dimensions of all our rooms are clearly stated on the Expedia website, where the relative size reflects the price. You booked our smallest and best value room. We have many positive reviews as you can see, so we are not sure why you were disappointed. However if you were wanting a larger / different room, our staff would have been happy to accommodate you if we had one available. Our room maintenance is weekly, we are a historic Victorian building, so we can never be as perfect as a new build, but we have plenty of charm and character. Too expensive for what you get
The hotel is in a nice area and the overall stay was good. However, it wasn’t worth the price. The “included breakfast” is practically non existent, it consists of a piece of bread with sometimes ham or cheese (sometimes they ran out of it), and coffee or tea. Also, we specifically requested a king bed and the room had two beds pushed together. It was ok but I wouldn’t come back

Room was lovely and beautifully clean. Nice decor and the bathroom spotless and luxurious (we had room 11). Hotel was reasonably quiet given its location and the bar / restaurant located on the ground floor. Staff were extremely helpful and solved a couple of issues for us speedily and with good humour. We had not realised when we booked that the breakfast included was only continental - this could have been clearer on the booking screen but overall a nice clean, beautifully decorated hotel with very helpful staff.

Very nice stay , staff very friendly as was owner. Room comfy, breakfast good , great location quiet but only a stones throw from Portebello Road and Noting Hill with nearby tube stations for central London too. Nice "perky" bar , really enjoyed our stay and will be back in the future.😀

The hotel was lovely, great location and friendly staff but very noisy plumbing system could hear gusts in room above, water running from the shower, toilet flushing etc and woke me up 2 or 3 times during the night.

Oasis of calm in reach of the city
Lovely boutique hotel. Elegantly decorated rooms, bath sheets big enough for two, coffee machine in the room, generous buffet breakfast. Nice bistro / bar downstairs. All withi easy rezch of cental London attractions (Hyde Park in our case for a concert). Second time here and definitely recommend.

Charming hotel close to great shopping and food
Staff was great and the room was cute, clean, and nicely tended to when I was out. The breakfast and bar/restaurant at the street level was also terrific and the location can't be beat (very trendy part of London). There is tons to see/do and eat within walking distance. I very much enjoyed my time there.

Rooms over a pub
The hotel is well located fro the Portobello Rd but has a number of shortcomings. No lift, bad for those with mobility issues or heavy luggage. No easy entrance (Via the pub / restaurant downstairs). Only occasional presence on the reception desk which is on a small landing on the first floor. Rather mediocre breakfast included. Shower fitting broken so you have to hold the handpick to get a shower. WiFi password issued on arrival consistently failed to work. Never managed to get connected. However, the room, although small, was comfortable with complimentary Nespresso. Staff were cheerful and the location convenient for one night. Had a nice evening meal in the restaurant downstairs. Not cheap but where is in London?

The hotel is fresh, beds are great. Service, attitude was quite brusk not unfriendly but uninspired. Also, the breakfast was very poor, toast and cornflakes is not what I would consider a good breakfast. Also, the walls are thin and you can hear noise from the street so not the most quiet of hotels. But rooms are nice, beds are comfy and good location for the price.

The room was really too small for 2 people it was awkward to move about - pillows were lumpy but mattress ok - up loads of stairs - I have a bad knee and there was no warning about lots of stairs when booking, that I noticed. Service was good especially the guy in the kitchen at breakfast - the air con handset was impossible to fathom and so the room was a bit chilly - couldn't have a shower because (there was no room for a bath in the bathroom) I'd had my hair done and didn't want to get it wet it was one of those really high immovable showers.

Nice hotel over a pub
Although the hotel is over a pub I was not inconvenience by any noise or cooking smells. the room was very small but well appointed. I can't imagine how 2 people could be in it. the room was overlooking ladbroke grove so it's almost impossible to keep the windows open because of the noise but the AC worked well so temperature was not an issue. bathroom was very clean although could do with a new shower head. staff was very friendly and helpful. breakfast in a pub is a unique experience . the food was fresh and the coffee strong. a very pleasant stay all in all.

Anniversary Holiday
Welcoming reception staff who carried our bags to our room, stored our baggage the following day, and printed our flight boarding passes for our upcoming flight. Attractive interior design in both the bistro/bar and our hotel room. Our cocktails, food and wine recommendations were excellent. Lovely live entertainment in the evening. They served a well appointed continental breakfast. The owner/landlord provided us with the utmost service, outing recommendations with excellent directions based on our preferred activities, and made sure we had a hired car to take us to our next hotel stay.

Great, funky pub with rooms
Was in town for a gig in Hammersmith, so the chose Portobello House on the basis that it was close to Ladbroke Grove tube which is on the same line. It's not really a hotel in the true sense of the word - more of a fancy pub with rooms. But it's a really lovely, friendly pub and my room at least was perfect. Check in was smooth and the receptionist took me to my room and offered to carry my bag. A rare and much appreciated gesture. The food also deserves a mention. The tapas was so delicious and such good value that I had it for supper and again for lunch the following day. The staff were super professional throughout. I'll definitely be back.

A Cute Gem Near Notting Hill
I stayed with a friend, both of us are very familiar with London and usually stay in budget type hotels, but this year I wanted to indulge a bit and choose someplace nicer. I stumbled upon this hotel because of the great rates and was not disappointed. We arrived early, as often happens when flying in, and the woman at the front desk graciously checked us in and placed our bags in our room as we went out into the city. The room itself was, understandably, small but very cute and clean with a nice bathroom attached. When the TV didn't work, the manager immediately stepped in to help us and continued to be friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. There was no noise from the restaurant below when it mattered and the street noise, for us, was part of the London charm and never excessive. The continental breakfast had a good variety of foods and you can order pretty much any item from the restaurant as room service. The location of this hotel is great, as well, being only a 5 minute walk from Ladbroke Grove (Hammersmith & City and Circle lines) tube station and less than 10 minutes from the Portobello Road Market. There's a bus stop right outside of the hotel that serves several lines to get you around London if you don't want to do everything by tube as well! I was very impressed by the cleanliness of this hotel, as often less "commercialized" hotels come off as dingy but the hotel was clean and the amenities were up to par. I'll definitely stay here on future trips!

Cute hotel
The only problem with this hotel for us was no one's fault. Because of it's location near Grenfell tower, we could not access it via tube. Other than that, it was wonderful. The breakfast was a little sparse but the staff were very accommodating.
