Excellent location

It was an great hotel, excellent location near the conference where I was attending. Also it is close to shopping , great restaurants and other facilities. Lobby was great

Construction noise

Beginning 7 30 am construction noise on the west side was annoying, as I was trying to recover from trans Atlantic jet lag. I had requested a QUIET room in my booking

Take a look at the kitchen.

Everything good except the food....in a word, awful. I came back very hungry after working all day and ordered a steak sandwich in the bar. Shoe leather with aubergine in the salad?! What a horrible surprise, plus the barman needs to back off a bit in terms of platitudes and helpful tips. Also, an employee in a suit, when he wasn't on the phone talking loudly in a foreign language was berating the bar staff for no apparent reason. Not a very relaxing environment in which to eat your shoe leather. Breakfast was better but not worth £21. Would stay again happily as the hotel, as a hotel, is great, but I would eat out.

Great!

It´s a perfect London Hotel in excellent location with very nice staff. We were there to celebrate my 50th birthday and couldn´t have had a better stay. We also had friends and relatives who stayed there and everybody was happy. The management even gave me a lovely surprise in my room on the day of my Birthday party! Have stayed there before and will stay again.

Service at the desk was friendly and fast -- breakfast was tasty. Overall hotel was nice, but the floor our room was on smelled of paint and smoke -- luckily only in the hallway so no issue in the room. Rooms were a bit outdated (carpet needed replacing) but a good size and comforatable. Location was great. Would definitely stay here again.

Impressive reception, but room didn't match up

Reception area of hotel very smart, staff all very pleasant and helpful. Great breakfast, lots of choice and some meals available fresh to order. Room was fine, except for previous guest's out-of-date food in fridge! Conflicting info in booklet regarding location of hairdryer, how electrics worked etc. Kettle had a ridiculously short cable and no really suitable socket to plug it in. Very small quantity of tea/coffee and milk, so we often had to ask for top-ups, which were brought up to the room without a problem. Very poor ventilation in bathroom - whole room stayed damp and mirror steamed up for a long time after using the shower, so impossible to get ready in there. Communal corridor on upper floor very dingy - carpet needs a good clean, and the area had a strange smell all weekend.
