Poor transport links

My fault really because I didn't check, but this hotel is nowhere near any tube or overground stations, and as we all know taxis south of the river not easily found. We were in room120 at the noise from the bar beneath was pretty loud.

We stayed here four years ago and the hotel was lovely, as were the staff. However, this time when we got to the room one of our mugs handn't been cleaned and there were hair bands on the floor from previous guests. Not one to usually complain I just cleaned the mug myself. Then when it came to trying to sleep we were unable to because of a constant buzzing noise from the tv and the air conditioning unit was making a strange humming noise despite being turned off. We had to call reception to come and sort it out and two men, a ladder and about 20 minutes later it was sorted. The men apologised and were very nice I might add. However, when we checked out not once did reception apologise or even ask how our stay was, just simply refunded part of our deposit as we had ordered a couple of drinks from the bar and that was that. This is meant to be a five star hotel and it certainty doesn't live up to that. You have to pay for pretty much any of the nice coffee pods etc or other drinks that aren't Tetley tea or Nescafé instant coffee which other five star hotels offer for free. It's definitely not keeping up with other five star hotels in that manner and the staff look miserable as anything. It's common courtesy to ask how your guests stay was and particularly if they have to call reception at 1am in the morning because they can't sleep!! I would have recommended four years ago but now I wouldn't bother and I won't be going back.

Lovely stay apart from shower. Staff apologetic but not reflected in price. Hope it's fixed for next clients who stay.

I have stayed here about four times and it was lovely but this time was bad and I won't be going back again. Shower was faulty would be extremely hot and then freezing cold then hot so you could not shower properly? As you didn't know whether you werw going to be scolded or freezing. It was also leaking a large amount of water all over the floor, so had to stop as didn't want to flood the bathroom when told the receptionist that we couldn't shower properly and all of the above she wasn't interested.

Is a beautiful building, the staff where friendly but very forgetful when you asked the from desk to book or do something for you. The spa woman room is in a very bad condition, the gym didn't smell too nicely. What really keep bothering me is how dusty and dirty the floor was specially on the spa.

Pros: close to where I needed to be, but no tube station and little local vibe
Cons: NOISE!! First night was constant partying and loud music until 3.30 am. No sleep URGH
Location: ok for Kew, Museums, trendy parts of Battersea. No tube nearby though

Rooms were not at all like the pictures.

Main reason I chose this hotel is because of the pool/spa, which unfortunately closes after 8pm.

Luxurious small hotel on edge of London.

Pros: Riverside location. Comfort. Some nice small touches (e.g. plate for used teabags).
Cons: Lighting in the bedrooms is inadequate.
Location: Transport to and from Clapham Junction is a plus. Good restaurants in nearby Battersea. Riverside walks.
This is a nice hotel. Rooms are quiet and very comfortable, though slightly over gadgeted. You need an engineering degree to work the shower. Decent breakfast.

Convenient but uninspiring

For what seems a relatively new hotel the standard of maintenance was poor. About half the lights didn't work and those that did were either too bright and badly located or too dim. For a large room it didn't have a full length mirror. The well equipped desk should have doubled as a dressing table with a mirror but no mirror you can sit down and look into. It was obviously designed by a man too as the lighting in the shower room was far to dim to have any idea how you were applying makeup. Also the rain shower had a side hosed shower but you couldn't operate them independently, not ideal if you didn't want to wash your hair. The bed was really uncomfortable too and the feather pillows like lead while the synthetic ones were lumpy. Overall it suited me location wise and while I may use it again I would prefer to stay in a Premier Inn!
