You get what you pay for

Posted Jul 11, 2017
This was the worst accommodations of our trip. It started with the office staff not finding both of our bookings and made me feel like I was wrong and didn't know what I was talking about. After a little more looking he finally found the booking. We then went off to our rooms and the lift wasn't working so we had to climb 6 flights of stairs to get to the 4th floor where our room was because the floors are numbered ground, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4. There was not very good air circulation at all and it was very HOT! The beds weren't made, which wasn't a huge deal but it would've been nice to know before hand. We booked an all girls room but it seemed to be placed right in the center of the boys dorms which was a bit awkward. We went to the community showers and found that the shower only turns on for about 30 seconds at a time and you have to continually press it for your water to turn back on. Finally, the next morning we needed luggage storage and as advertised they had a locker room but the lockers only took the old pound coins, which was not advertised, and the front desk didn't have any old pound coins to exchange. So the locker storage became at your own risk with no security. Needless to say we were ready to get out of that place and never see it again.

Bad hostel full of thieves, and with very bad wifi

Posted Jun 20, 2017
Cons: Wifi connection
Feel bad about the wifi connection. Desparate with the experience of my camera being stolen and the staff weren't being helpful at all. If you want to access to a fluent wifi connection and don't want your personal belongings stolen, don't choose this hostel.

Hi there! I am sorry to hear this since we did our best to help you, checking the CCTV and helping the police to find the culprit. We always suggest that guests leave valuable things in the lockers. Hope you have a nice day anyway.

Great location!

Pretty close to Central London; there is a tube line within a 10 minute walk! The hostel itself is huge and they offer breakfast lunch and dinner at a reasonable price.

Good walk to metro. Hotel charged $ for breakfast that was literally ham, cheese and bread. Toaster was in a different room! Didnt see it until we left. Place is VERY noisy. People all hours of night running halls and upstair. Even with ear plugs i couldnt sleep. No email in rooms. Had to use only in common areas. And my son is covered in bug bites . So make sure you keep your gear in plastic bags sealed .

Pros: Cheap & Friendly staff
Cons: Cleanliness of the bedroom, bathroom and toilet especially
Location: Location was near to Elephant & Castle tube station, but need to take bus from the station otherwise it is quite far.
We only stayed for 1 night. The place overall is quite nice, you'll get to meet a lot of people from various countries, although the room was quite small & the toilet is not the cleanest, but if you're looking for a place to just sleep this is the best! And the cheapest too :-)

Very nice hostel with friendly stuff, the only bad thing was that the internet was available only in the lobby and not in the rooms.

Good for the price

Posted Apr 18, 2017
Pros: The price
Cons: The wifi
The hotel was okay in general. The location wasn't great, about a 45 minute walk to the centre of the city. Overall it seemed to be fairly clean but the soap dispenser in one of the bathrooms never got refilled in the three nights I stayed here so I'm not sure how attentive the people cleaning the bathroom were. The wifi was only available in the common areas which would have been fine except for the fact that the wifi only worked about 50% time which is extremely frustrating when you're roaming. For the price I would consider staying here again but it wouldn't necessarily be my first choice.

Ho Hum Hostel

Posted Mar 28, 2017 on Hotels
It's fine as hostels go but the lifts are out of the way due to the stairs needed to get to and from the lifts (it's a strange building). Staff was great, however, but the lockers offered were 3 pounds every time you opened and closed one and so far away from the rooms that it became a burden to keep one. Beds did not have individual lights nor were there any charging outlets in the room. Those that were available (and working) were too few, far between, and users had to take turns in line to use them. The place wasn't bad but mediocre.

Hi, Jack. Thanks for your feedback! Our beautiful building tends to be valuated by our customers. We do recommend to use the elevator to avoid getting lost in the way. We hope to see you again soon! Pablo

Great place to save money

Posted Mar 24, 2017
We found it made more sense to get a private room for 2 people since the dorms would have cost the same anyway. For about $50/night you get what you pay for. The room was the size of a walk-in closet with bunk beds and a very tiny private bathroom. The linens were clean and soft, the bed was comfortable, and the window opened enough to let in fresh air. The bathroom was a problem. Our sink got clogged the first time we used it and there was no way to drain it. The shower's cold water knob wasnt working and when we reported it to the front desk they told us they dont have maintenence on site and we would have to wait til next morning. They suggested we use the public showers but... We paid for privacy for a reason. How does a hostel with hundreds of people have NO MAINTENECE at night? Not cool. Other than that, our stay was fine. Underground was a 10 min walk, area is sketchy especially at night but theres always people about. Breakfast was great, we paid the £5 for full english. Sucked that wifi was only available in common areas but we survived. There is only 1 lift and its very small and takes a while to get to the bottom floor. Expect to wait a while for it. Finally, the staff were nice enough. Some are eager to help with directions and others arent but will. If youre looking for just a place to crash that wont break the bank, this is a good option.

Pros: Staff pleasing and close to attractions and city
Cons: Beds in particular the frames and pillows.
Location: A short bus trip takes you yo the centre in less than b 10 minutes.
I found the place ok for short stays as it is located close topublic transport however beds were a bit uncomfortable and noisy.
