Dear Matthew, thank you for taking the time to review your stay. The fact that you enjoyed your stay enough to want to extend (more than once) suggests that the mark for this review is already very harsh. It is up to you as the guest to make sure that your extension is confirmed, and telling the concierge service (who are responsible for the security and luggage, not reservations) is not the way to explore the possibility of extending your stay especially at 6am in the morning. If you had spoken to our Reception team, who are in the office every day and easily reachable from the phone in your apartment, then they could have advised on the possibilities.On your check-out day, we tried to help you and would have been able to make arrangements to keep you staying with us, but as you had left it so late and we were almost fully booked, another guest had already booked your apartment. You refused to pay the rate offered in order for us to make the necessary movements and therefore decided to leave, but Sanctum made every effort to process an extension for you. After all, why would we want you to leave if it was possible to extend your stay? It would be in both our interests, but we must consider other guests as well.We hope you consider removing this review as you clearly had a good stay up until this point.

Checked in on a Friday. Supposedly has daily housekeeping but for Sat and Sun they only three out the trash. Called on Monday asking for housekeeping and was told it's scheduled for Tuesday. So we were expected to survive on one set of towels for three days. Had only small bottles of shampoo/body wash and these were never replenished. The combination washer dryer is completely useless as a dryer, clothes never dried. Dish washer tablet also only replenished once for a 6 night stay

Hello Andrew, it's never pleasant reading negative reviews but thankfully I can respond to your baseless comments.Maid service is twice a week, your booking was for 6 nights and you checked in on a Friday so it was either Monday or Tuesday that your maid service was due, I believe you opted for Tuesday and there was a do not disturb sign on your door Monday. We don't offer service on the weekends. Shampoo/Conditioner/Dish washing tablets/bottled water is provided on arrival complimentary, I believe this is clearly advertised online and on our website, most of our families and guests purchase amenities at the local grocery store but if you were purely relying on our small bottles of shampoo/conditioner for your 6 night stay in London you could have called reception and we would have gladly refilled this for you. In fact I will make a note on your next stay to make sure we offer this to you complimentary.

Our stay at Sanctum London Maida Vale in May 2023 was filled with disappointment and frustration. From the very first day, it seemed that something was constantly going wrong, and the customer service we received was absolutely terrible. One of the major issues we encountered was with the so-called "fully equipped kitchen." However, none of the kitchen appliances were functional. The stove top failed to heat up, rendering it useless for cooking, and the toaster didn't work at all. It was incredibly frustrating to have a kitchen that was advertised as fully equipped but lacked even the most basic functionality. Even worse, the dishwasher was connected to the sewer through a flexible pipe that was carelessly dropped into the sink sewage system. As a result, the dishwasher leaked and drained wastewater onto the kitchen floor. This not only created an unhygienic environment but also posed a safety hazard. Housekeeping was another letdown. They came at random days, and their lack of attention to detail was evident. On one occasion, they loaded the dishwasher and turned it on without adding the cleaning tablets, which rendered it ineffective. Upon arrival, we discovered that one of the two showers in the apartment didn't work properly. Only hot water was available, while the cold water faucet was malfunctioning. The maintenance person who came to address the issue advised us to shower in the hot water, claiming it wasn't boiling. This was an unacceptable and potentially dangero

Dear Svetlana, this review has been left for no other reason than bitterness due to Expedia making a mistake with your booking which caused you to be charged twice. Unfortunately, Expedia have not taken responsibility for this error and refunded you, and as such you have posted a scathing review full of lies to get back at us when we are not the responsible party.None of the issues mentioned were raised during your stay except for the hot water issue, which was fixed immediately by our on-site maintenance team. If there were any further issues, which can happen without warning, we would hope that courteous guests would enlighten us so we can address the issue but we have since tested our hobs, toaster and the dishwasher and all of which work as they should.The house-keeping service was also conducted as usual, twice per week and on set days as per the information stated on Expedia.As displayed on our Expedia page, we give guests limited access to an external health club, and we have no control over their policies regarding children. In any case, we do not state any opening times online regarding the health club, so no misinformation was provided prior to your check-in to mean that your evening was ruined. A manager was called speedily and resolved the situation regarding the vouchers. Regarding what you call 'a disregard for guest satisfaction' because a later check-out could not be offered, we would argue that the opposite is actually true as we are concerned with getting the apartment clean for the next guest by the guaranteed 3pm check-in time. We are sure you would not have been impressed if you were told you could access the apartment at a certain time and were then unable to, and we are not sure why you think you know how busy we were on a BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND better than us, but wherever you get your information is not credible as we were fully booked and had another guest due to check-in that afternoon. We would argue that it shows your selfish disregard for others that you hold this point against us when any extension of your check-out time is subject to availability.Finally, we'd like to call your own behaviour into question as your party displayed disgusting rudeness upon check-out with a taxi driver who was just trying to assist you with your luggage. This is not the way we conduct ourselves in the UK, and would expect more respect from guests visiting the country. It is not a surprise that you have shown vindictiveness in leaving this review given the manners shown during your stay.Sanctum are more than happy to own up to any rare failure to deliver our normally impeccable service (our review score displays that this is not a common occurrence), and as such we hope that future guests can disregard this review as purely a revenge move due to a dispute between Expedia. It is a shame that Sanctum has to suffer because of this.

Would highly recommend for families - very good size, clean, comfortable, close to public transport (bus, tube and overground) and grocery store as well as coffee shop right beside building. Good value for money overall when compared cost per family per night to other accommodation in the area - would definitely come back.

Very clean and well presented apartment. Lovely well equipped with the only negative being the sofa bed. This was uncomfortable with a very thin mattress. Other than that I would definitely recommend.

I have stayed in multiple places in London over the years including the Savoy. This was the only property that asked me for my passport despite being a British Citizen. I don’t carry my passport when travelling in the UK so this was an issue but in the end they allowed me to show my various credit and debit cards as ID and my husbands driving licence. The rooms are only cleaned twice a week and no change of towels is given even if you leave a sign to say please make up my room. I was travelling with a baby so having extra towels is useful when you need to bathe them daily. Other than that everything was nice.

Dear HawaThank you for staying with us at Sanctum, and to respond 1/for fraud protection the passport or the British drivers license is requested from the booker, to make sure someone else’s card is not being used, and unfortunately I cannot respond on Savoy’s security measures. 2/ our website and confirmation clearly states 2 full services per week which includes towel and linen changes, and rubbish collection on daily bases, and extra charges will apply for extra service which you did not agree to. Apartment was really good, staff very friendly and helpful. Location was ideal for us, only issue was i paid extra for an upgraded apartment but didn't even get a balcony, which was shown on images and clearly available. Wasn't in for that long so want an issue other than the extra cost, but thought the upgrade was not worth it at all.

Great stay for 3 nights touring around London. Short walk to underground made for easy sight-seeing. We stayed with our one-year old and the staff made our stay very pleasant including upgrading our room so we had more space. Would definitely stay here again.

GREAT SERVICED APARTMENT
We learned on the day we were supposed to check-in that the apartment we have reserved was no longer available. Hotels.com offered the Sanctum International Serviced Apartments as a replacement for out four-night stay. Although we were unhappy to have to accept a place, we have not personally chosen and at the last minute, we were happy with the offer when we get to the place. The staff was very professional, knowledgeable and courteous. They help us with any questions about directions we had. The apartment looks new or newly updated, was very clean, spacious, and fits very well our needs. The place is not in central London but one can easily any central London destination in a short train ride. The neighborhood is not a tourist area so the vibe is very different. Recommended for big families or large group. I will definitely stay there if I have the opportunity in the future.

The apartment was in very good order, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The 3 bed apartment was ideal for our family of 5. The apartment was clean and had a the nice addition of noise reduction interior doors which meant we could the kids to bed and still be able to stay up watching TV or talking with family. The only downside was the in house washer/dryer. As a family of 5 with a 5 day stay we booked an apartment with amenities so we could wash/dry our clothes before we moved on to the next part of the trip. Having the kids and the amount of clean clothes they need, it was disappointing that the machine failed to dry properly and we had to hang clothes off furniture to get them dry while we went out and about. The other issue was the advertised pool. The description read as if the pool was in the same building as the apartment but it was actually across the road in a club. Taking the kids across in the cold, getting them fully changed and then dry after the swim was not appealling so we gave it a miss. I specifically picked this apartment because of the pool. The general area has great connections to all the travel options you could want within easy walking distance, even with kids. Local shops provide a variety of groceries and food outlets for all tastes. All in all a great place to stay.

The flat was clean and neat and the front desk people were very courteous and check in and out was a breeze!! There were only a couple of things that were worth mentioning and it could just be that I'm from the good ole USA and things are different in Europe. In the bathroom there were no small washing cloths for your face - the smallest was what we would call a hand towel. There were 3 balconies that our flat had access to but the railing was totally blocked from view with a sheet of white plexi-glass that you could not see thru. Sort of disappointing, but the 'view' could be seen from the windows. And the coffee maker was an espresso type machine - so no drip type American coffee in the morning. Other than that the flat was great AND there is a neat little neighborhood pub around the corner that loves Americans.

As for the balconies, unfortunately as per UK health & safety regulations we were governed by the height restrictions and glass restrictions when constructing the building however on the lower floors you are able to see over the balconies. The balcony in apartment 35 is biggest in building but the partition wall between this apartment and apartment 36 is very low (1meter high only) so I had privacy issue when using the balcony; we did not really enjoy the balcony. Even the people at 36 were not happy I believe since they did not use balcony. Balconies at other apartments were very much private with good wall completely isolating each balcony.

Nice and convenient service apartment
The room was spacious and comfortable. Transportation by tube and overground train was on the doorstep. Kitchen was fully equipped. All front staffs were friendly. Maid service can be requested daily. Car parking was available with additional charge for 24 GBP/night. Only local area looked scary to walk around after sunset.

The apartment at sanctum exeeded our expections in every way. Comportable big cousy very well equipped always helpful and nice staff close to all needed public transportation great supermarket nearby. Everything needed for a perfect family stay being abroad feeling at home! Thanks alot!!!!!

Trip to London
Accommodation very clean and in a superb location for shops, bars, restaurants, buses and trains. Staff very friendly and efficient. Would stay again and would recommend to family and friends.

Definitely not a 5 stars
My stay was not so good as I was mislead by the Hotel. Before making my Non-Refundable booking I called the property to confirm their acceptance and consent to exceed the number of guests by 2 kids (8 and 3 years old) who will be sharing the existing beds with us and the property have affirmatively agreed. The drama started by delaying check-in because they wouldn't accept our number. Next day the manager calls continued the drama and insisted to rent another 1bedroom apartment ... to make a long story short I solved this by paiding for 2 extra beds which I didnt use. As a tourist I dont have time to waste on playing games and making claims or reporting this to police. It is also worth mentioning that the property requires major renovation to be considered as a 5 stars. The toilet and shower are very old. The washing and other electronics needs replacement.

In any case you then, had your parents join you the next day making the total of occupiers 10. As a tourist when booking online please respect the Terms & Conditions of the service provider. Finally for all our guests and reviewers information we have already refurbished 7th & 1st floors and on October 16th 2017 we will be refurbishing all other floors. A pleasant stay with great service.
We had a great stay at Sanctum. We loved the diverse neighborhood in which it is situated, and felt like the hotel management team went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and happy with our experience there. The apartment we selected (One Bedroom Deluxe) was sufficiently roomy for us three and was very functional. We also enjoyed our close proximity to transportation, restaurants, and grocery stores. We would definitely stay again.

Sanctum stay
Beautiful apartment, clean and well equipped. Short walk to transportation and amenities. The outstanding feature of Sanctum is its staff including security personnel. Very helpful and courteous, made our stay pleasant. Sanctum will be our first choice on our next visit to London.
