Our room was not ready at check in time and we decided to have a late lunch while waiting for the room to be ready. At reception I was told someone would call me on my mobile when the room was ready. No one called. The lunch service was poor.I ordered a crab risotto and green salad. The salad did not come and I had to ask for it again. It arrived just as I was finishing my main meal. Staff were not attentive. When we finally were given the key cards for our room - the key cards didn't work . We went back to reception to complain. We had been given there wrong key cards. We were staying overnight before our euro star journey next day and reception said " oh , you are staying 4 nights." No- we were staying one night and had prepaid the room. I said I was very disappointed at the service we were receiving and we were told we would be upgraded and given cards for the club room . The club room facilities were frankly very disappointing compared to other hotels we have stayed in . Although the location is fantastic for Eurostar, I would not stay here again due to the poor service in the restaurant and at reception check -in. Some staff training is required . Not great value for money either.
