the property is mediocre - 66 stairs with luggage to get to our room. The location is fantastic and it's on a nice block of old stately row-homes - many of which are more expensive hotels. Walk to lot's of stuff in the area.

Overall, our stay at the Abbey was pretty good. The room was nice and felt very clean. The hotel was in a great location and very close to a tube stop (less than a block away). Our main issue with our stay was the bathroom and value for what we paid. For spending around $200 for one night, I would expect the amenities to be better quality. The shower had the worst water pressure I've ever experienced and the hotel didn't provide conditioner. It's not a bad option for a place to stay in London, but I wouldn't go back.

The property is in a nice area that's very close to public transportation, it was undergoing a face lift in the front of the property so parts of the side walks on both sides were closed with walking trail through the barricades as they were reflooring the sidewalks and a upgraded paint job on our hotel, the staff was friendly and helpful. They provide complimentary coffee, tea and biscuits. the bathroom had a nice jet tub with a hand held shower head. we were on the 3rd floor and the direction our window faced had a wall blocking half our view so it kind of was funny but a bit of a let down that it wasnt stated on the profile booking on expedia about this obstruction, but overall the hotel is worth the price compared to other hotels in the area and it's in a real good spot in London.

Located in good area close to Notting Hill Gate, decent bars and restaurants within walking distance. Communal areas are a bit dated and carpet worn, could use upgrading. Room located in basement area. Clean and quiet, bedroom looked like it had been freshly painted. Wardrobe space was in bathroom area, so layout was unorthodox. No safe or desk, not ideal for working traveller but was fine for my trip. Bathroom door handle was unscrewed from door and one hinge had a pin which was coming out. Only in hotel for about 12 hours so was fine for my travel purposes but unlikely to return. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

Fantastic hotel. Stayed twice on the trip. The first room was amazing, large, comfortable and quiet. The second stay was in a very small room at the front of the hotel which was louder and even the tub was extremely small. It was disappointing after our previous room was so wonderful. The website for the hotel states they have laundry services which they do not which was also inconvenient. Otherwise hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay again.
