Elegant little hotel in Knightsbridge

Posted May 19, 2017
Pros: The mid-priced rooms are ample in size with an enormous bed and plenty of sitting space for a small sofa and table.
This lovely small hotel is around the corner from Bromptom Road--home of Harrod's, Harvey Nichols, and the Victoria and Albert Museum-all within walking distance. This former townhouse is in a quiet, upscale neighborhood that is fun to explore on its own. The atmosphere is amazingly quiet, given how close the hotel is to a bustling part of London. And the staff is knowledgeable and most helpful about plays, museum exhibitions, and other nighttime activities. They easily found us excellent same day seats for a top-reviewed play.

Birthday celebrations (with our fur baby)

Posted May 1, 2017
On our weekend trip to London (our first trip with our dog) we were delighted at the warm and friendly welcome Michael and Laura provided on Reception. We had friends who have been here and we were pleased we had listened and acted on their recommendation. From Michael's personal tour of the key aspects of the hotel and our (upgraded) suite to the little details that helped us settle in (complimentary chilled bottled water, packs of sweets and nuts to munch whenever you like) we were made to feel like the most important guests they ever welcomed at the hotel. Our dog had his own bed, bowls and treats in the room. Both he and I received a delightful welcome note which was a much appreciated personal touch. The bathroom was as good if not better than others we have enjoyed when staying at 5 star London hotels. Every detail considered and catered for. We ordered room service for our dinner and the kitchen made a pasta dish that was not on the menu for my fussy partner. It was missing garlic and herbs but had everything else and meant she felt like we were in a home away from home. The evening bar experience was a treat. The bartender was friendly and helpful; he listened to my drinks preferences and created the perfect tipple for us both. The drinks were expensive but value for money given the level of personal service, surrounding and "experience". Breakfast was the best! Again, the food was delicious and the service as you would expect. Set us up for a great day!

a gem in London

Posted Feb 15, 2017
Pros: staff, location, comfort
Cons: nothing
Location: tube, restaurants, Harrods
i have stayed in some nice hotels across the world from Mandarin Orientals in several cities through to Raffles in Asia and for all the right reasons this is up at the top of my list. If you want a large impersonal 'American style' hotel don't stay here however if you want a luxurious and certainly big enough room that has everything you need and is superbly appointed, great service (all aspects from front desk to room service) and an amazing location this is the place for you. The hotel is walking distance (10 minutes) to 2 tube stations and 5 minutes from Harrods. The hotel itself is 28 rooms and provides the perfect English experience, polite (cant do enough for you) staff and an environment that feels likes a magnificent country home or most important, your home. You get spoilt by being greeted by name, or the staff realising that you drink too many cappuccino's and sending them to your room the minute they see you. I could rave for hours about this place but quite honestly next to Raffles Dubai this is now my all time favorite hotel ever. All i can say is stay here, you will love it !

A Haven in the midst of London

Posted Jan 13, 2017 on Hotels
Every detail had been considered in furnishing the room and accessories needed by a traveler. The cocktail lounge/ sitting room area is lovely and a very comfortable place to visit and have a great martini. The breakfast included was fabulous, with great choice of cooked items for your choice.

Too short of a stay!

The Egerton is a lovely small hotel which feels more like staying at your wealthy relative's home. The rooms are beautifully appointed and quite comfortable and the location is convenient as well. The rooms are also exceptionally quiet. We loved our stay and only wish we had had more time!

Magical stay in London

Posted Dec 23, 2016
Beautiful hotel in Knightsbridge. Just a few blocks away from Harrod's, Harvey Nichols and other fancy shops. Also just steps from the V&A museum - a definite highlight from our trip! Exemplary staff, the most comfortable beds, delicious breakfasts and a cozy lounge where you can get afternoon tea or a martini before dinner.

Great location,in a generally quite neighborhood. However, there was a lot of construction going on during our stay. Expensive to eat or drink at hotel. Shower was very touchy on temperature.

Boutique Hotel at its Best

Posted Oct 15, 2016
Location: Well located in central Knightsbridge. Safe off Brompton Road location. Great for shopping along Sloane Street and/or Harrods.
Great small hotel: of similar quality but better location than the Blake's Hotel (which is also one of my favorite small hotels in London). The bar, room service, food are top notch. The rooms are dream-like English warmth, with spotless beautiful bathrooms. This hotel has traditional decoration, it is not for the modern-seeking customer. Staff is too notch: helpful, knowledgeable, available at all hours even for a small hotel. Internet was adequate for downloading movies/clips, but I did not test the upload speed. If you had to pick a shortcoming, all gym and spa facilities are outside the hotel. Though these facilities are great, people seeking such facilities in the hotel would probably want to select a hotel including such facilities. If you want a premier small boutique hotel, enchanting room decor, a Knightsbridge location, look no further.
