Workable

Posted May 13, 2017
Pros: Close to Hyde Park and Paddington Underground
Cons: Hotel needs a make-over.
Location: Hyde Park.... nice trails there for walking.
Registration is not at hotel but across street in a much more plush hotel. Flush was not working when arrived.... after some negotiating manage to have hotel management provide another room, smaller one but suitable. They did provide a complimentary bottle of wine to ease the situation. Also provide extra blanket when we requested it.

Did the job

Posted Apr 20, 2017
* Small but did the job just for sleeping. * Mattress needed to be thicker as it was very thin and lacked support. * Good Wifi (though we were on the ground floor)

Okay stay in the middle of london. Value for money

Posted Dec 18, 2016
The reception was moved accross the road and we were booked at the 5th level. No elevators at the hotel itself so we had to bring all our luggage up. If you have heavy luggage, best to stay in the lower floors. Reception and staff were excellent though.

Good for the price

Posted Dec 10, 2016
Pros: Convenient and the right price!
Cons: Secondary glazing on the old windows!
Location: Walking distance from Hyde Park, Oxford Street loads of things close by to do. London on your doorstep.
Room was freshly decorated, bedding and shower room clean. Only downfall was the old wooden windows letting in all the street noise! There was a lovely choice for breakfast too.

Inconvenience - not worth the money!

Posted Oct 13, 2016 on Hotels
Not so good. 6 flights of stairs with no elevator, and no one to help carry luggage- very inconvenient. The free breakfast was not so good either. The location was across the street from the checkin, another disappointment.

Last resort only

Posted Oct 7, 2016
Pros: Location. Staff were polite.
Cons: Pretty much everything else.
Room smelled badly of smoke. Very small bathroom with obstructed entry (low beam). I was given a 4th (USA 5th) floor room and there is no lift. Floorboards creak badly throughout. Overall appearance is shabby. I will not be staying here again.

Will never come back

Posted Sep 15, 2016 on Hotels
It was not a cheap option. The reception is in a different building. There was no electricity in the room and it took them over 2 hours for them to send someone to fix the problem. The photos of the rooms made it look New , contemporary and big. In reality is was very small and the toilet was very small. Every thing was taty and old.

Ok value for money but very hot and stuffy room

Posted Sep 2, 2016 on Wotif
Pros: Location
Cons: Weird security system of having to leave room key with reception at hotel over the road everytime you go out.
Room hot with no air conditioning and large windows that faced the afternoon sun. TV didn't work and phone couldn't connect to outside line for local call. Wifi only worked in reception area. (Reception staff did offer to send someone to fix TV and phone when alerted to issue). Room and bathroom very small, as expected for price, but otherwise tidy and comfortable. Great location close to Hyde Park. Weird security system of having to leave room key with reception at hotel over the road everytime you go out. Very annoying and seemed like a strange solution to the potentional issue of people losing room keys.
