Enjoyed the charm of the hotel. The hotel has a bit of history which is interesting. It is very tidy and well maintained. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Good location to some places to eat and a tube station.

Beautiful hotel that I've always wanted to stay in

Posted Sep 12, 2017
This is a lovely, refined, character-filled retreat right in the heart of London. Very helpful and pleasant staff and tastefully decorated. Take your breakfast in the Library, the Conservatory, the Courtyard or in your sumptuous room. Expensive but worth every penny.

A very British style hotel in a interesting area

Posted Aug 28, 2017
I was looking for a traditional British looking Hotel cosy and nostalgique in a interesting area not far from the center. Somewhere that we can feel in London with a pub / restaurant / cafe nearby surrounded by Londoners not tourists like us! The Rookery offered it all with beauty and gentle manners ! A dream came true! Absolutely unforgettable!

We had a great time at the Rookery hotel. We especially enjoyed the honesty bar. Will stay there again.

Great hotel, in a lovely location

Posted Jul 24, 2017
Pros: Furnishings, comfortable bed, friendly staff
Cons: Ful length dress mirrors in room. Iphone charger. Body lotion
Location: Old street, shoreditch and hoxton nearby. Holborn an easy walk, Oxford st by bus. Easy commute to paddington station and Heathrow within 40mins
I love this hotel. The beds are comfy, the location is great for the areas that are more off track as well as touristy. It's quiet and has aircon for those nights when you need it. The furnishings are beautiful and it's quaint. A great hotel for people who want a discreet beautiful place to stay tucked out of the way.

Excellent service in a lovely old English setting

Posted Jul 5, 2017
Pros: Service was exquisite! Mark the night manager was endlessly patient, cheery and unobstrusive with guests who were enjoying the sitting room at night.
Cons: The old-school bathtub and no standing shower might not to be everyone's liking.
Location: Located a stone's throw away from Farringdon station, the location is convenient while being a relatively quiet spot in the middle of central London.
Lovely and well-appointed boutique hotel that has all the old world charm you would expect from the pictures. The limitations of the old building (no elevator, dim interior, etc.) are more than adequately addressed by the thoughtful staff who always offered help, and went beyond in most situations to accomodate any additional requests. The presence of an 'Honesty Bar', where guests could help ourselves to a liquor and cocktail cabinet and simply write our purchases down in a book by the bar, perfectly demonstrates the attitude with which the Rookery treats it guests - you feel like friends of the generous hosts, not hotel guests.
