Fabulous position

Posted Sep 22, 2016
Pros: The staff at the desk and breakfast which was good quality.
Location: Walking distance to Victoria Station and access to Buckingham Palace, also the on off bus. interesting little cafés and also the regular franchises.
I was able to access the city and sights with ease. Lovely feeling to the area and plenty of spots to eat . The staff were really helpful and thoughtful went out of their way to make sure the stay was smooth. I cannot praise them enough. Rooms are small to be expected in boutique style hotel but clean with fresh clean ensuites.

A Lovely Inn in Peckham

Posted Jul 30, 2016
Pros: Affordable, helpful, friendly, nice outdoor beer garden, restaurant and lounge big. Children will feel at home. No horrible rap music.
Cons: Not much.
Location: As explained previously.
The corridors were narrow, upstairs downstairs, a bit of an adventure if you are used to straight lines and motels that are quite frankly efficient, soul-less and forgettable. This is an old building, It feels like it and suited me well. The staff weren't just friendly they were friendly people not 'have a nice day' cardboard cut-outs. A minute's stroll away from a cluster of shops, cafes, a few other pubs, not far (six minutes walk) from the station. London's sights and crowds are 15-20 minutes away by train (Victoria station) but here things are quiet. There's a sort of West Indian feel to the shops and eateries by Peckham Rye station. Jerk chicken, yams, but the immediate environs of the inn are quietly London. Quite hard to define. Cosmopolitan, no neon, small gardens, gentle...perhaps a bit dull if you live there. But for a visitor, in its way ,about the best place I have encountered in London that serves good food, proper beer and is affordable!

Only hotel in Peckham area.

Posted Nov 26, 2015
Pros: The food and friendly staff.
Cons: The rooms need a re-vamp, very dated and a bit grim.
Location: Fab location, right in the heart of Peckham rye. Great transport links into town.
As a local I had high expectations for this pub, I socialise and eat in there regularly so expected the accommodation to be very nice. I therefore suggested it to my parents to stay for the weekend. For £100 a night we all thought the room was poor value for money. The room was very cramped, there was damp and mould patches on the walls and worst of all the room stank of old cigarette smoke, which we struggled to open the window to air the room. Knowing the pub well I presumed that paying for the B&B, would include one of their super breakfasts which I've had many time as a local - disgracefully not, the breakfast was a pot of porridge in the room !!!! what a joke, and basically false advertising i think not to mention an extra £30 per couple per day for the real breakfast!!!

Pleasant hotel

Posted Jul 5, 2013
Pros: Friendly staff, comfortable room.
Cons: Disappointing upkeep of certain areas.
Location: Excellent for us - family near by, good road & train networks to get around London.
Upkeep/cleanliness of the entrance hall of the accommodation was quite disappointing, there was also quite an off putting smell. Our room however was better - comfortable & good size room and ensuite facilities, but unfortunately the fridge did not work (reported but not resolved but staff were very helpful).
