Hotel was easy to access. We were warmly greeted by the owners and made to feel very welcome. The staff were very friendly and we felt our every need was attended to. Chef prepared great meals for us and the food was extremely fresh. Stay included full breakfast! We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. Pride of ownership was clearly evident in the exceptional running of this hotel.

Pre-cruise hotel in London

Posted May 14, 2017
Pros: Great breakfast. Such friendly staff.
Cons: Maybe a small frig in room?
Location: Location is great. Within walking distance to pubs, Victoria Station, the London Eye, Coach Station.
Short walk to Victoria Station where we took various coaches for tours. Several great pubs within walking distance. Wonderful English breakfast each morning. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Set up our tours and printed tickets. Wood stay here again!

Thank you for choosing to stay at The Windermere, London. We hope to welcome you again. We do not provide refrigerators in the room as we feel they would clutter. We are happy to refrigerate any items, especially medicines (24-hour access). Tours and entry tickets to London sights are available from our Reception also.

Great Boutique Hotel close to Victoria Station

Posted May 7, 2017
Pros: Great breakfast, incredible staff, excellent bed linens.
Cons: Rooms are small but this didn't bother us. If room size is an issue for you I suggest you contact the hotel before booking to see what is available.
Location: It's a 5-10 minute walk to Victoria Station.
We stayed at the Windermere during our 10 day visit to London. Our room was small but fine for two people. It was very tastefully appointed with a modern updated bath. The bed was extremely comfortable and the linens and towels were very good quality. The hotel is located in a good neighborhood and is a 5-10 minute walk to Victoria Station. The complimentary breakfast included a nice assortment of hot and cold choices, was very tasty and the service was excellent. The owners go above and beyond to assist in making your vacation a memorable one. ALL staff members are extremely helpful and very pleasant. Everyone working at the front desk will gladly assist you with directions, reservations and travel plans. We have traveled to many European countries and find that small boutique hotels such as the Windermere focus on providing 5 star customer service. Admittedly, most also have small rooms and baths. We spend very little time in the hotel so room size is not that important to us but service, cleanliness and location are. We highly recommend this hotel.

Wonderful Week with Old World Charm

Posted May 5, 2017
Pros: We loved the personal attention from all the staff and the owners were wonderful to work with. I would definitely stay here again.
Location: The hotel is easy walking distance from the Victoria Station and Victoria Coach Station and was an easy walk to the Apollo Theatre.
This is a family owned hotel and we were relying on other good reviews from previous customers and we were not disappointed. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and were assisted in getting our luggage to our room. My wife's hot iron was not compatible with the electricity so the hotel let us use one of theirs. The room was very comfortable while mixing Victorian era charm with modern comforts. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was modern and very clean with excellent quality. We loved the breakfasts and knew all the staff by the end of the week and actually kind of hated to say goodbye at the end of our stay. The stairwells are narrow and a little difficult to carry luggage through, but there is a lift for this purpose. I didn't mind the limited space in the stairwells since this is after all, a very old Victorian building and the atmosphere added to the culture of our stay in London.

Great hotel close to Victoria Coach/station

Posted May 4, 2017
Pros: large clean room with wonderful staff and breakfast.
Location: Walking distance to Victoria Coach and Victoria Station. The Apollo Theater where Wicked is playing is about a ten minute walk and fun to view.
The hotel was very convenient to the Victoria Coach station. Room was very large, comfortable and quiet on the third floor. The included breakfast was plentiful and included both a buffet as well as a full English breakfast. I can't say enough nice things about the management and all the staff working at the hotel. Great place to stay!

Perfect location and a stay which we cannot fault!

Posted Apr 26, 2017
Pros: Location. Quietness. Breakfast. All the staff. Room was spacious, clean and there was attention to small details.
Location: A few blocks away from Victoria coach station & Victoria train station - yet in a quiet residential neighbourhood. Lots of restaurants nearby.
We booked for two nights wanting to be close to Victoria Street station as this was our arrival point. The hotel is situated in a very quiet residential neighbourhood and only a few blocks away from the Victoria coach station and a little further to the Victoria train station. Everything was fabulous - great front desk staff, attentive breakfast staff, our room was quiet, spacious, very clean and had a lovely large modern bathroom. Breakfast was generous; my hubby was introduced to a good old 'full English' and I enjoyed the continental array - you can have both! We really cannot fault anything and were very pleased with our stay. Both nights we ate out on Wilton street which has loads of great restaurants and lots of choice. The Windermere Hotel has been a family run business for about 30 years - they have 19 rooms which are individually decorated.

A great location and friendly staff

Posted Apr 24, 2017
Pros: The friendliness of the staff.
Cons: There is always for improvement although nothing specifically stuck out to us.
Location: It is very close to Victoria Station for transport links and within walking distance of many of the London attractions.
We stayed over in London for one night to have a base for activities we had planned over the weekend. The Windermere provided a great location and the facilities and friendly staff made a welcome backdrop to what was a really good weekend watching football and the London Marathon. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Our room was clean, tidy and comfortable whilst the inclusion of a good English breakfast helped set us on our way on the Sunday and was a real bonus. We would certainly look to stay here again if planning to stay over in London at any time and we are happy to recommend this hotel to other travelers.
