Apartment room

Our experience and stay was fantastic. We sprung for the apartment room and couldn't have been happier. We had just come off a week in Paris so we had plenty of dirty laundry that we were able to wash. This place is close to everything, the staff is great, and breakfast every morning was fantastic.

Great hotel with great staff

Pros: Staff, spacious, and clean.
Cons: Modernness of the hotel.
Location: Close to Victoria line station, great location for tourist attractions (Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, Piccadilly square), great nearby restaurants.
We stayed at The Windermere Hotel for one night while in London. Our stay was very comfortable,with a specious room and very friendly and helpful staff. The location is great if you are looking for a place in London to access central London easily. The neighbourhood is friendly and easily reachable to most tourist attractions. The best part about the hotel was the staff, super friendly and accommodating. We only stayed one night, but they offered to hold our luggage for two days while we explored London. The breakfast was fantastic with great service and nice food. The staff went above and beyond throughout out stay and offered great assistance and recommendations for our stay. Although the hotel is a little old, the rooms are nicely renovated and clean above all, and cleanliness is very important for our stay at hotels. Great experience, recommend to all.

Convenient, Modern and Enjoyable

We have a pleasant enjoyable stay at the Windemere the reception is 24 hour which is great as we arrived early before check inn opened at two and we dropped off our bags and when we returned at night approx 11.00pm our bags were in our apartment was great, we booked an apartment adjoining the hotel and it was fab, very modern, it had all amenities, coffee machine being my favourite.. Breakfast was fab which included a full English and staff were soo friendly would definitely stay here again l.

Nice but not outstanding

Pros: Pleasant room and friendly helpful staff . Breakfast was not bad , good continental choice the cooked perhaps lacked a little variety . Room was fine , added hangers near the door for wet things would have been nice and the bathroom could have done with more shelf space .
Cons: The safe was very poor it stuck shut and needed attention . Lots of stairs .
Location: Quiet area , not much nearby really , though close to Victoria station.

Hello and thank you again for your feedback. As explained at the time, you had filled the safe so much, that the many items you had placed in it, were pushing against the door from the inside. It was for this reason that you were unable to unlock the safe yourselves. I am very pleased that we were able to unblock the safe as quickly as we did on Sunday morning. We do have an elevator that travels to all floors, and you were allocated a room that had no step access. You booked one of our Classic Double rooms. I hope that we have the opportunity to accommodate you in one of our larger room categories in the future.

Excellent budget option

If you are looking for a luxury option, or a spacious business hotel, The Windermere is not for you. But if you are on a budget, London can be difficult -- lots of tiny, dirty rooms to choose from, particularly around Warwick Way (a ten minute walk southeast of Victoria Station), which is full of old row houses converted into underwhelming hotels. There is little to distinguish The Windermere from the others from the outside, and admittedly the rooms are just as small. I'm tall and had particular trouble in the cramped bathroom, which was divided into two tiny booths (one a toilet with a mini sink, the other with the shower and another mini sink.) What sets The Windermere is the maintenance, cleanliness, and service. Staff was attentive, always on duty, and immediately on top of any problems. (My toilet started running, and the owner was on top of it with a serviceman within a couple hours.) The room was spotless, the bed was comfortable, room service/breakfast was good and the TV had plentiful channel options. Importantly for someone on a business trip, the WiFi worked properly, and was included in the price. Recommended for those on a budget that don't mind close quarters.

Litte Gem

The hotel is ideally placed for anything in central London. The single room was compact but the the furnishing were good and comfortable. The breakfast was great.
