A hidden gemPosted Aug 31, 2015
Cons: All tables were full for dinner. We would have liked to dine in.
Location: A short walk to the Tate modern. ( 15-20 mins) and all the south bank activities. We went to eat nearby to "the fish market" that was very good.
from arrival to leaving this was an excellent experience. Accommodation, staff and facilities all good.

Comfortable hotel in city locationPosted Jul 22, 2015
Pros: Stunning views of the City including St Pauls. Beautiful reception area. Comfortable bed.
Cons: Faster check-in with more helpful staff.
Location: Close to Bank station, Royal Exchange and Bank of England museum.
We were upgraded to a room with a balcony giving stunning views of the City including St Pauls. Check-in was slow and staff did not fully explain how to use the lift. The cups and milk were stored in an unexpected location away from the coffee making machine.

Amazing hotel in the heart of the cityPosted Jul 19, 2015
I knew about this hotel having worked in the city for a while and decided to stay there on a trip back to London. Amazing service, great rooms, and a top location. Could not fault my experience and will definitely be staying there again.

poor infrastructure ina greta hotelPosted Jul 9, 2015 on Hotels
hotel was very well presented, staff were attentive and well trained. unfortunately the Wifi was pathetic which in a business location is a major let down. moreover the hot water took several minutes to run warm. staff did their best to appease

Great stay - would return in futurePosted Jul 7, 2015 on Hotels
We loved this hotel, the location was convenient for Bank station and multiple bus lines. On arrival we were provided with a glass of champagne each but no porter service was available. The room was comfortable and modern, but the bathroom door was a foot away from the bed. The breakfast was overpriced. Overall we would return and appreciated how quiet the City is at the weekends.

would not returnPosted Jul 6, 2015 on Hotels
very disappointing , travelling on business from overseas you become very reliant on the quality of the hotel wifi. it was ridiculously slow. moreover the hot water took an age to get to temperature when showering

Great location, but room let the hotel downPosted Jul 3, 2015 on Hotels
A lovely hotel in a location you wouldn't expect, an oasis in a desert so to speak. So why don't I give it 5 stars? The welcome at reception was great, with an offer of a glass of water, juice or prosecco while you checked in which was great, but we were then left to take our own bags (one of which was very heavy) to our room, something we normally like to do, but in a 5* hotel you expect to at least be offered some assistance, which we weren't. The room was well appointed with books and magazines to read, a well appointed work station with power points etc. but the double/king size bed was squeezed in so that there was little room on one side to get into bed, and no bedside table. The en-suite was separated from the main bedroom by only a sliding door, and whilst this was surely adequate, it felt awkward being in such close proximity to the bed. The pillows looked so fluffy but collapsed to nothing when you lay on them and the bed was uncomfortable for both my partner and I. We both awoke early in the morning, unable to get back to sleep. We had high expectations of the hotel, and it did not live up to them unfortunately, and did not offer great value for a weekend stay. I am sure for the location and convenience on a business trip, this would be ideal, but not for a relaxing weekend stay. We have stayed at much better "lower grade" Marriot hotels and were disappointed.

Gem of a hotel, centre of town and peacefulPosted Jun 30, 2015 on Hotels
Booked for a weekend theatre break. Quiet location at the weekend and ideal for Bank tube station. Parking available around the corner and all the staff were incredibly helpful, professional and friendly. I stay away with work over a hundred times a year and to take my wife away, I look for a very high standard. Threadneedles is five stars all the way.
