Probably the best bet in Longview

Posted Jul 5, 2017
Pros: Big suite and quiet.
Cons: Rehabs need to be done with quality installations and fixtures.
Check in was easy. Front desk was cheerful. Room wasn't exactly what I reserved (I ended up with the suite with roll in shower and not a tub), but it wasn't an issue I would complain about this trip. Suite was large, with tons of unused space (probably because of handicap access). Obvious remodel updates were evident (poor fitting fixtures, laughably ridiculous curtain tracks that intersected in such a way that complete closure was impossible), but updates were done poorly. Unlevel floor. Bed was comfortable and room was quiet EXCEPT that the ceiling fan in the bedroom was blown on directly by AC which causes an incessant ticking noise all...night...long. Typical Hilton with low speed internet free and good wifi a daily charge, unless you are a Hilton Honors member. Most chains at this price level include free wifi period. Only one AC duct in main room, so desk side gets hot. Room was clean and housekeeping staff was helpful. Sodas sold at the front were old (they were in 2016 college football cans...in July 2017!) and they tasted like finely aged metal. Hallway carpets are bizarrely colored. Looks like remodel may not have included new interior. The stay was fine and comfortable. Checkout was easy. No mysterious charges. Overall, a good stay. Looking at other local choices, this is the best around.

Loved the room. Only stayed over night. Waited for 15-20 min for someone to show up to check in.

Great Room. The staff was so friendly. Only issue was the workout room. One of the treadmills did not work properly because the belt was slipping. Could not use because of this. The location is good. Close to shopping and places to eat. The morning breakfast was great.

Pros: See above.
Cons: Couches are hard.
We love staying at Homewood Suites because rooms are spacious, breakfast is excellent with many choices, Happy Hour and a buffet on many nights. Rooms have TV in living and br. Kitchen has frig., sink, microwave, etc.

I have stayed here before and would always come back, but this time they REMODELED and as a result furniture is Uncomfortable, they had no cable tv and/or pay tv. Everything else was about the same as always, but they need to fix their entertainment choices And the WiFi is useless
