Fabulous Tuscan retreat

Posted Sep 12, 2014
Pros: Location, rooms, garden, pool, staff.
Cons: Tiny bit of maintenance to our room: shutter fittings, little bulbs - but all very minor issues.
Location: Easy to get to from Pisa airport. Located in the beautiful and relaxed Chianti region. Great access to Siena and Florence.
Had a wonderful time - very highly recommended. Stayed for a week in early September, great to relax and chill by the pool but also well situated and to get out in the car and explore Chianti.

Schöne Lage, Service eher verhalten

Posted Apr 3, 2008

Beautiful hotel and Charming, Friendly service

Posted Sep 17, 2007
The hotel was everything we expected and more. We arrived quite early in the day but the receptionist was so friendly and helpful we felt very welcome. She offered us a choice of apartments, both clean and beautifully furnished. The pool was also a great hit with the children. A local pizzeria was recommended for an evening meal and proved a popular and lively venue. We were only booked for one night returning to Milan the next day but would be very happy to return.

Lovely Countryside Hotel

Posted Sep 7, 2007
Villa La Grotta is a newly opened agriturismo hotel on the east side of tuscany. It has recently been completly overhauled and is looking great and has very friendly and welcoming staff. We wanted a quiet retreat with easy driving distances to the major cities, and witout streching ourselves we went to Arezzo, Firenze, Siena and Pisa. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to others who are looking for a quiet holiday but with one caveat - you need a car as this really is in the countryside.
