Universal Studios Hollywood

Posted Apr 16, 2017
Pros: The location to the Universal Studios Hollywood shuttle stop was great. We needed to walk about 4 blocks.
Cons: The room was dark.
Location: Universal Studios Hollywood!
The hotel was clean and the staff was very pleasant. The location was close to the freeway. There was not too much else around the hotel.

Could've been better

Posted Apr 16, 2017
Parking tight - only double parking Checked in late - good - however went to room and someone already in room. Apparently checked in 2 diff groups same room ?! Had to go back down, then get room and had issue with towel. Went to front desk for assistance. Room itself - clean - good standard options - micro/frig. Floor boards coming up, missing grout ? binding materials so lifting up. Front desk reps ok with exception of late night male rep. In morning Supervisor (Rebecca-if I remember correctly) was very apologetic and gave us a discount on parking for inconvenience. Also treated us to breakfast. She made a difference in understanding our disappointment. Thank you to her for making it better.

Great hotel close to Universal Studios

Posted Apr 16, 2017
Pros: Very nice room and nice lounge. Great staff
Cons: Not a great area. Not the hotels fault.
Location: Quick walk to Universal.
Very happy with the location. Close walk to Universal, and a short cab ride back at night. Nice little lounge for a drink at the end of the day, and breakfast in the morning. Go to the Good Neighbour restaurant up the street for a really good breakfast if you get a chance. Easy covered parking (fee). The surrounding area is a bit dicey. A lot of homeless on the streets. Our first day included a gal relieving herself at the cross-walk. There is an underground tunnel to under the freeway but we avoided it. Took cab back after dark.

They charge you for parking. Pool is super tiny in back of garage.

Thank you for staying with us. Like most urban hotels, we do charge an extra fee for parking; we are delighted, however, to offer it at a lower average rate than the other hotels in our area. We appreciate your feedback and thank you again for your business.

Very decent hotel, few minutes from Universal

Posted Apr 7, 2017
Pros: Clean, simple, good value.
Cons: Bathroom shower needs to be modernized/improved. Looks like the tile guys were in a rush and did a mediocre job on tiling the floor of the shower.
Location: Universal City, Universal Studios, City Walk, close to North Hollywood. What else do you want?
Nice hotel, a bit cheaper than the on Universal grounds options, yet only a 5 -10 min walk to the free shuttle. Parking is also cheaper.

My check in experience was met with unfriendly staff but everything else was great. Wonderful lobby bar, awesome rooms (pictures don't do it justice) and the check out process was very easy and fast.

I would stay again

Friendly, helpful staff. Free drink for happy hour. Nice clean rooms. The hotel itself is small and not the fanciest, but it's worth the stay and it was pleasant all in all.

Not kid friendly

Posted Apr 2, 2017
Pros: Clean & nice looking room
Cons: Pool, lighting, lower sink, bed & pillows uncomfortable, water pressure so low could hardly take a shower.
Location: Location is great.
It was clean & had a nice staff BUT the pool was so small it was more like a big Jacuzzi. No joke pool was so small should not be called a pool. Also be was very uncomfortable, lighting was too dim. Sink was too high for a child and water pressure was so bad took so long to get soap off since water was barely coming out. Clean & nice looking room but too many bad qualities I would not recommend or go back.
